Driving down to Mickey's for Christmas!

I know just how frustrating dh's can be. Hang in there... sometimes I wonder what they are thinking... believe me... I could have a rant or two...or TWENTY that I could do regarding mine. ;)

:hug:Thank you Ann! All is okay now... although I am still a little mad and after reading your post I asked mine if he ever put his time in at work and he tells me "You never told me when we are going" So yeah I feel for you! I don't think that their brains are totally developed sometimes.... but then I wonder he's so smart when it comes to everything else! You hang in there too and even if you can't make it I'll still be your friend and I'll pick up something for Zoe "from Mickey!"

:rotfl2:Honestly, I am not laughing at your situation...I am laughing because I swear this is my life most of the time. I have a calendar on the wall in the kitchen...EVERYTHING IS WRITTEN ON IT...you would think the man would look at it once in a while to see how busy we are and help me out. NOOOOO...as I run around trying to get everyone everywhere and pick them back up...cook dinner, clean...keep my head above water he is outside in his chair enjoying a beer with a friend or his dad at night. Those days are about to end...as the weather is getting colder! Yesterday he thought he earned the husband of the year award by taking Boo to his doctor appointment...well I have taken him to the past 8 in regards to his arm...please, you have the flexible schedule owning your own business. Today his is going to have do pick ups and take toos...I have a calendar meeting for the school district and this may take A LONG time to develop for next year! Okay, my rant is over...feels better!

Hey, think of it this way...maybe the candy was on sale after Halloween?

You know Tammie I have SEVERAL calenders around the house and one time we were arguing through the bathroom door that I had to leave and so did he and no one was there for Damien so I have on in there now too! Yeah there is something about these husbands! I am going to try hard not to let Damien do that!

And sadly no it wasn't on sale because it was the boxed candy you buy at the theater since it's going to "be on sale" during the party and in goody bags- I had 3 boxes of 32/box. I asked him if he looked to make sure it wasn't the same kids coming back around and I get "How should I know... they are all wearing masks!"! :scared1:

I am not sure I won't just go without him... I don't know...:confused3

Well, at least this maybe prompted your dh to put in for his time, yes? And... ya know, my dh is sooo smart. Like scary at time how smart he is..but then when it comes to being useful here at times... I just don't know where all his brains go....

Tammie, I think you too can join the "what is going on with our dhs" club. :confused3 Aren't they all just maddening at times?

I am not sure I won't just go without him... I don't know...:confused3

Tough decision, but I know that all you and Zoe have gone through...you deserve some happiness for a while to get away from it all!

:rotfl2:I so hear you girls...I love my dh but sometimes he it is like I am his mother when it comes to schedules and such! Just once, I would like him to say...I was noticing on the calendar that we have ____ this week! Instead of me having to give a play by play every day, every morrning, every night!!!

Oh Ann...I think Steve right now is winning hands down the dh (and I don't mean darling) award right now...I don't think Jeff could screw up enough right now to pass him...but I am sure he can figure out how to tie him. The other day he asked...how long are we going to be gone...I told him...his response was "really, that long?" UGH :confused3

hey I am coming back to write more maybe tomorrow or Sunday... but tomorrow night is Damien's Cars 2 party and I have been busy with that and everything else! So please hang in there and then there after---- DISNEY ON THE BRAIN!!!! i get to start getting the clothes and packages together and everything else! I am so excited, but I have to get this done first!

Yeah... no it didn't, he says tomorrow but then all week he worked in the city and the company is on the other end of the island (the Hamptons area) so he says when he gets back to the shop I said I don't care.... you come you come you can't come I'll be mad!

Can't wait to hear about the party!

I am posting it now quick before soccer!

Okay all of these photos were taken by a friend of mine since I didn't have my camera! I employed all of the help I could! And it was cold and like I asked her to my sister in law forgot to bring the electric heaters so we could warm the deck up but it was okay we stayed in sweatshirts and jackets and were okay as the kids ran around the room it got warmer! Honestly they didn't watch the movie much... I don't have a picture of some of the stuff I wanted to but I will tell you here what they were... When the kids walked up to the house a big stop sign we made hung in front, then smaller arrow signs (like you see when driving) led them to the back of the house. Out side was a sign that read "Theater #7 now showing Cars 2" (because it was for Damien turning 7) and a poster of the movie was hung on the back door! The kids walked in and Damien greeted them by taking a gift and showing them where to lay the blankets on the floor. Then I brought them to a table the they got to use fabric markers to decorate a wallet for themselves!
This is Chris and Damien decorating their wallets!
monknchriswallets.jpg

After they showed me proof that they had a wallet I let them have their license and $60 in play money to put inside! This is what they license looked like-- if they got a picture to me before the party they had it nice and laminated, if they didn't they just had a paper one without a photo!
So boys had Mcqueen
damienlicense.png

And girls had Sally
allyslicense.png

With the money and license they were allowed to go buy food for themselves (pizza was $6, Corndog was $4, kettle corn was $4, popcorn was $3, cotton candy was $6, fries were $3, soda was $4 and you had to have a license to buy it, hot cocoa and water were $2, ice cream was $3/scoop (and this came out after the cupcakes)}.
It worked out well! I had my sister in law, her friend Eliff and my friend Christine all in the kitchen cooking
inside-1.jpg

While my DH took orders
k.jpg

He did get a break when he was fired by his "manager" (my older sister in law) for asking the kids to move to the side until their order was done so he could take the next order- I guess that Wendy's is still in him (it's where we met in high school)! So my little brother in law took over and I ran orders for moms, dads, and babies!
menarkar.jpg

This is Chris and Damien ordering at the window (the sign is the one I made for the food)
ordering.jpg

And then they would pay
paying.jpg

Mikey ordering some soda- K and Arkar (my little brother in law) had fun with the ID for soda, they would ask for the ID and sometimes they would say "Doesn't look like you do you have any other forms of ID on you?" And sometimes they would say "Is this a fake ID your trying to buy soda with?" And my favorite "Are you sure your of drinking soda age?"
miekyordering.jpg

They were supposed to watch the movie while eating but the kids would order 1 thing and then eat quick so they could order again-- one kid ran out of money so he asked his mom for her money (her real money). Some kids asked if they could buy food for their parents (even though the sign said free food for parents- but they had to show ID that they were a parent said K)!
monknchris2.jpg

There were a lot of spills I was so surprised:rotfl2: NOT:lmao:!
But then we had the cake- this is before they came outside with my brother in law
arkarncake-1.jpg

Lightening McQueen

Tow Matter-- he was accused of looking like Frankenstein!

My monkey with his cupcakes!

Some kids at the party eating the cupcakes-- they said they were really good!
samnmikey.jpg

Then my sister in law surprised us all with a pinata! Last year we had one with no where to hang it so Arkar held it and got smacked so I said never again! Well we had no where to hang it and the kids didn't want to go outside for it so guess what? In this picture you see my sister in law with her phone near her mouth she was never "documented' laughing, but my DH and son were not ashamed of laughing at my brother in laws misery because that's him holding the pinata!
monk1.jpg

This is my good friend's daughter and Damien's best friends sister, Samantha- she was so scared of hitting my brother in law that she was almost refusing to hit it. Arkar told her it's fine go for it...... I don't have a picture of it but she smacked him in his place and broke the pinata!
pinata.jpg

Poor thing felt so bad though that she wouldn't go for candy so I had to take some of Damien's for her!
You can't see the goody bags too well-- you can kinda see them in the back of this picture, but I bought some popcorn buckets and stuffed them with a bag of popcorn and a few other smaller candies the wrapped that in cellophane with a boxed candy and each child got an old cartoon movie that party city had for 99 cents each (like popeye, Daffy, Mighty Mouse).
monk2.jpg

Then the kids went home and God bless her heart my one friend stayed to help me clean while our kids played in the bedroom and her husband played guitar with my husband and brother in! I had a lot of fun with this! I thought that the kids would watch the movie more, but it's fine! My friend is in FL with her son that leaves to serve his first tour tomorrow so her husband brought the kids and he watched the movie the whole time! He even had me and his kids (and by the end any kids that wanted to buy more food) running for the food and drinks he wanted-- my friend says "I bet he enjoyed that once in a lifetime experience because he knows that won't happen again!" Damien got a lot of money for Disney and I was happy with that so he put it away for when we leave! I did feel bad someone gave him a game stop giftcard and he doesn't have a DSI anymore and we don't have any game systems anymore (they were all stolen from us when we were robbed) so I'm not sure what I can do there... Sorry this is so long, but thank you for reading!

WOW...amazing party! Damien is one lucky boy, his mama did awesome! Those cupcakes are SUPER (you were right to tell your facebook friends that you had to share them with your disney friends)!!!!! I love the fact that your DH got fired! What a perfect window to serve out of...and the comments about the soda....:rotfl2:. I think the big kids had more fun than the little kids.

As for not watching the movie...yep, that happens there are so many things going on and kids like to run around, I would not let that make you sad...you had so many awesome experiences planned I would not want to watch the movie either.. I find when it is just my 3 doing the movie nights we all watch, but when the 4 K cousins are involved there is a lot more playing going on!

I so wish you had your camera...any luck with insurance company on getting things replaced? As for the gift card, it can always be saved and he can use it to purchase a new one!

Yeah the older kids were a hoot! One kid came back because he had been served burnt popcorn and wanted a refund! The little ones didn't know! there were 5 year olds and they payed and things, but it was mostly the kids from his class, the bus stop and soccer team that had fun with it!
YES I had to show you guys! I got them from the Disneyfamily.com- not as good as theirs, but I tried and it took me hours to do those! No one understands when I say the Dis so I tell them it's a Disney facebook! And I like sharing things like that here more than facebook because some of them don't want to hear it for nothing and you guys always are there to hear it!
NO we haven't heard much from the insurance company until the police department puts out the search for those items and they haven't done that yet. I told everyone I want a camera and I am saving up for one before we leave- it just stinks that I don't have it now! The police department hasn't done it because it appears to be a teenager and they don't think that they things will be taken to the resale places and pawn shops they think that the kids will just hand them out for cash in the neighborhood. I guess that it costs money and time to put the search out for stuff I don't really understand it truthfully and I get spoken to like a child when I say I don't understand it so I don't do that anymore! But thank you!

This week I am going to go back over my park plans with the additions and notes that you guys have given me! As well as get the house clean again! Plus Damien has 2xdays off this week:scared1:! So all of this will be done this week!
Next week I want to go over the driving plans again and get that settled! Plus look over everything that I have bought and get that stuff in order... and I have to find a suitcase that I had-- not sure who I lent it to...

:banana:YAY as of Thursday I only have one more month until we leave! :cool1::cool1:
:cheer2::dance3::cheer2::dance3::cheer2::dance3::cheer2:

Yikes...why is Damien out of school for 2 days this week? That sounds like bad calendar planning right before Thanksgiving!

Hope you get lots done. I finally made a list of everything I need to get done and when it has to be done...guess what...HOW DID I RUN OUT OF TIME? Weren't we just complaining how far away our trip was! :rotfl2: If I would just stop messing with ADRs and running scenarios through my head...darn Ridemax it is their fault for not having January up yet!

What an awesome party! If you don't mind, I will stash this away for an idea for my dd's. I love the fake money..paying for food... too fun!!!

Great party!! Looks like the kids had so much fun and I got a giggle out of your DBIL having to hold the pinata, too! :rotfl2:

Those cupcakes look so cute and YUMMY!

Yeah it's going to mess up his scheduling so I don't like the 2 days off! He had off today (11/8) for Superintendent's day/election day and on Friday (11/11) he has off for Veteran's day! I think that it was poor planning!

LMAO I was just looking at how soon my trip is (ONLY ONE MONTH COME TOMORROW!!!!!) and was wondering... can I get all of this done by then? Still no January? That stinks... just hold your breath and it will come and say off the Disney website!!! Instead worry about the clothes and it will keep away from changing plans!

What an awesome party! If you don't mind, I will stash this away for an idea for my dd's. I love the fake money..paying for food... too fun!!!

Thank you! My good friend couldn't come because she was in Florida, but her DH brought her kids and we sent pictures from his phone all night- when she got back the kids showed her all of their goodies and she says she was jealous! You should try to use it! It wasn't that bad I think that I paid around $200 for everything and I could have paid a lot less if I didn't worry about running out of food (I bought 3xbags of chips and we don't eat chips!, 6 pizzas and 4 boxes of 28 corndogs- not so bad because most are still in the freezer and a great lunch for Damien)! The kids had fun though! And I had fun and the play money was so funny my friends son told his mom when she got home "Mrs Htun gave us money to buy food and look I still have some left I can buy things for you!" So cute!

Thank you! I was so proud of those cupcakes! And my DBIL is such a great sport! I have known him since he was 7 and he's 17 now and he's so great, I love him!

:banana::banana::banana:YAY:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Tomorrow marks a month until we leave for Disney!!! I can't believe that we have come so far- from like February I started to stalk the DIS until now! I am so excited and nervous all at once! YAY for all of us!
