I did a search and couldn't find what I needed so hopefully someone can help. Here are my questions:

1. Can someone provide driving directions from Disney World to Port?

2. What is the closest onsite resort to highway that we will be driving to get to Port? (we will be driving on Sat. morning - cruise Wonder on Sunday)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tiger

The easiest thing to do is take I-4 to the Bee Line Expressway. The Bee Line Expressway takes you directly to the port. At one point the road splits, stay over to the right side. I think that the total amount of the tolls will come to $2.50, but take $5.00 in quarters just to be sure.

As for the resort hotel, we have stayed at the All-Star resorts both times we have cruised. It takes about an hour to an hour and a half, from what I remember.

Thanks - I printed out Dave's instructions, but I'm not that good with maps and DH is at work. The baby is crying and I have to call reservations back in order to book a hotel, hopefully using the new discount code that came out today. So, I'm a little stressed at the moment. I still can't figure out which resort is closest to this expressway (the baby keeps grabbing at my maps!) - which resort should we stay at in order to just hop on this expressway to Cocoa Beach?

Thanks, Tiger

The signs at Disney World are excellent, so all you'll need to do is follow the signs to I4 from whatever hotel you are staying at.
As an alternative, you might want to consider staying near the airport. Most of the hotels are right outside the North Exit, which is also right by 528, so you wouldn't even have to bother with I4. I get a top star level hotel in the airport area for $28 to $33 via Priceline. If you want to drive to WDW for the day, take 417.

Thanks, but we are driving down from Canada and spending the week before our cruise in Disney World so we aren't going to be at the airport. So, can any of you recommend which Disney resort is closest to the I-4?

Thanks, Tiger

choose where you WANT to stay. There are only a couple roads off property and they are both well marked with directions to I4. One resort might be a few hundred feet closer than another, but the tiny difference really is irrelevant!

as a person who lives near the port and ferequent disney weekly with dear sons i am very famikiar with the drive and would suggest taking 417 to 528 rather than I4 there is always lots of traffic back upo on I4 and no traffic on 417 just as you exit disney follow the signs ti teh airport the road you will then get on is 417 the greenway go on it through 2 tolls and the n you will hit 528 form there it is a staight shot.. either way I4 or 417 it will be about 3.50 in tolls.. but i really suggest 417 almost no one that I know who lives near the port takes I4 to disney area anymore..
The closet hotel would prob be the new one pop century/wild world of sport but all the resorts are within a small radiance and does not make much differencethe animal kingdom resort wiill put you on the road with only 1 turn and that is to get on eithe rI4 or 417 actually it is the same exit from there i thinnk justthat you stay to the rightt instead of the left when you get on I4/417 hope this helps I can clarify if you need it

Second star to the right and straight on until morning ... oops that's the directions to another magical place.

Thanks for the tip, my DH says that sounds great so we'll try 417 instead!

Thanks Dave! We greatly enjoy your site. Awesome job - especially for those of us doing DCL for the 1st time!

That looks great dave... My hubby always was so stubburmn would insist on taking 14 to save the dollar in tolls until last tiem when we were STUCK in traffic for literally and hour.. we had been warned but since it never happened to him he just kept saying 14 (men they can be stubborn) but 417 is just soo much easier absolutely NO TRAFFIC!!:Pinkbounc although you directions have 417 as more miles?? I am not doubting you I justthought that that was one of the reason they did 417 was that it would be ashort cut? whod have thought it was longer?? you learn something everyday.. ( ibetter make sure hubby does not se ethis or he will be back to I4) Your sight is great keep up the good work
