Just wondering where a good spot would be to stop on the way home to Ontario from Disney. Looking to stop around the 8-10 hour spot. Not sure what others do. Travelling with a family of 6 with 4 young boys. So something fun would be appreciated.

Thanks

You don't say what route you are using. I've travelled many times the I-77/79 route. Charlotte, NC is about 9 to 9.5 hours of driving time from Disney, along this route.

There's plenty of hotels in this area.

Sorry bout that. I am open to whatever route would be fun. I have two days to get back so my only rule is that the hotel should fit six people in one room.

We stop in Roanoke , Virginia but that's not on your route. For the hotel, check out sixsuitcase.com. They have made a great website of hotels that have rooms for families of 6. They even tell you what to expect for breakfast!

Since you're from Strathroy, your best bet would be the I-75 route and crossing at Sarnia. We stayed in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky on our way home the last time. We didn't get there until after 8 pm (I still have the hotel receipt - lol!) and I can't remember what time we left the Orlando area. I'm thinking we would've left in the morning, so you may want to stop somewhere before Mt. Vernon if you prefer to stop earlier in the evening.

Get the Along I-75 book - it is great - lists all the amenities at each exit, along with interesting tidbits and places to stop along the way.

I second for Charlotte - gorgeous area, lots to do - what age are your boys? Do you like Nascar? Track tours are only $5 (kids may be cheaper or free). The Concord area where the track is has a huge outlet mall with a fun park for the kids (mini golf, go-carts, arcade, etc.), movie theater, lots of restaurants and hotels, huge Bass Pro store, all the Nascar motorsports garages are nearby for free tours, and lots more to do depending on your likes/dislikes.

I live in Sarnia and we do the I75 route. 10 hours would probably get you to the border of Georgia or into Tennessee - not sure where you are starting from. We always look for Holiday Inn Express (try to look in more rural areas - tends to be a little cheaper). They usually have an indoor pool and serve breakfast in the morning which works well for the kids. They usually have large rooms and we don't usually have problems getting 2 queens and a pullout sofa for 6.

and love stopping overnight in Chattanooga TN. We try for a hotel more downtown and take the kids to the Creative Discovery Musuem ... it is the best children's museum we have EVER visited. I hear that the aquarium is great too ... it will be our stop for the trip down this fall. There is a Courtyard by Marriott and a Hilton Garden in very near by.

That sounds great. Love all the suggestions. I really like the museum and aquarium idea.hat sounds perfect. Where is it located if you dont mind?

If you take I-75 I would recommend staying the night in Cleveland, Tennesse or Dalton, Georgia if you can make it that far. In that past we always stayed at Hampton Inn's however this August we are staying at Courtyard By Marriott's and a Fairfield Inn & Suites, because we had enough Marriott reward points for free nights at each location.
