Driving down again in May and have a few questions on parking options. If we are staying at a DVC resort and eating at the polynesian, can I drive and park for free at poly and what do I need to park there (reservation #'s or DVC parking Pass), same question about the contemporary eating at Chef Mickeys and want to drive over, can I park for free and what do I need? Was shocked last trip when I rolled into the swan and they wanted $15 to park even when I had a reservation.

All Disney resort guests are allowed to park at the resorts because of dining. When you pull up to the guard shack, just tell them you have reservation and that is it. You will probably be given a 3 hour parking pass.

one year we went to eat at the Polly and stayed to be at the pool all together at teh Polly from 10-3pm we just gave them the keys to park the car and that was that:)

I think if you are not staying on property you can also visit and park for free at any Disney resort as well; but I know for certain that all guests staying at a Disney resort including DVC resorts can park for free at other Disney owned resorts. You can go to dine or browse around at the resort or to pool hop if you are DVC members staying on points & want to go to a resort that is included in pool hopping.

Sometimes the guard has asked to see our resort card or DVC member card if we we didn't have dining reservation & just wanted to visit. If you want to valet park you must pay for that ( DVC members no longer get free valet parking as a perk, that has been discontinued ).

Best wishes :goodvibes

The 3 hour pass depends on how busy they are. Last October we had breakfast at the Polynesian and were not given a 3 hour pass, just waived through. I think they did ask to see our room key.

When you are staying on-property, they give you a parking pass for your resort. I leave that pass on my dashboard and when I go to other resorts for a meal, the guard at the gate usually just lets me through. Once in a while I have had to show ID but normally, they don't worry about it.

We have always been asked for an id, never given a time limit.
