if I'm going to be bringing down my car while i'm in my program, will I need to get a license in florida to drive? i was looking online and it says on the florida DMV website that any out of state drivers need to get a FL license within 30 days of residency. does this apply to CP students since we'll eventually be going back, or because we'll have an address at the apartment complex that we'd live in we'll have to get a florida license?

No, you won't be counted as a resident. Because you're an intern on a college program, it's considered temporary. Even if you extended and did two programs back to back, you won't have to. It's a temporary residence.

I have a related question so instead of making a new topic I'll ask it here.. If I get accepted to the program again this spring it will be a permanent move to Florida so is there a minimum amount of time I have to be there before applying for a Florida resident driver's license?

If you're moving to FL permanently, you can get a license as soon as you have an address. FL is easy to transfer licenses. You do not have to take the test again.
