Drivers in Car rental places

We fly to sanford next week. We were just saying that last time we got dh and FIL to go in while MIL and I looked after the luggage and dd. But this time it's dh, me, dd and ds. I was wanting to drive as we have alamo gold insurance with a compact car. After speaking to my friend who goes to florida and uses Alamo everytime, she was saying that she always drives but never goes in her dh just takes her licence and she stays with the kids.
Just wondered how it will work for us?

Sorry I can't really help the only time DW has ever been listed as another driver she was there to present her own license.

Hopefully someone else will be able to confirm or deny what your friend has said

In my experience additional drivers have to be present with Alamo, (different with Dollar) but so saying your husband can take your licence in and get the booking done, all you have to do is sign the agreement, there is a waiting area in the Alamo welcome centre in Sanford so your hubbie can beckon you over when you have to sign, it won't be a problem.
