Drivers growing wings?

Hello all,

We have always, and I mean always driven to WDW from MD, and now WV for our vacations. In the past we have towed our camper, but we have recently sold that and are trying hotels for a while.

We have a trip planned for Jan 2017 and are thinking about flying instead of driving to save some time.

Wondering a few things:

1. When you fly into Orlando, I know there is a magical express that runs to the Resorts. If we are staying at POFQ, how often does it run? DO we have to be strategic about when our flight arrives?

2. For departure, similar questions - does the Magical Express run multiple times per day?

3. Is there a fee for the ME bus?

4. Do they handle your luggage? Or do you have to retrieve it from the luggage area at the airport yourself?

Any other tips or considerations, plusses or minuses about flying?

DME runs pretty much constantly 24x7. The exct dispatch time will depend upon your resort, time of day, crowd levels etc. But basically when they have enough guests to fill a bus (it may be anywhere from one to four resorts usually) they will load it up and ship it off. The cost of DME is built into your hotel room, so you pay for it if you use it or not. If you book DME you will be sent yellow sticky luggage tags. Any bags affixed with these tags will be collected and sent to your resort automatically to be delivered within 3 hours. The exception being flights arriving after 10PM, you would need to collect that luggage yourself and they will place it under your bus.

That board will give you lots of answers.
Personally, I always use Magic Express. It is for allguests staying on site at disney world.
The buses are coach buses and run all day to all disney world resorts.
As the PP said your bags are put right in your room so, anything u want to have when you arrive you should take in a carry on.

The only downside is that on the day you depart...they take you to the airport 3 hrs prior to your flight.
I like to take morning flights to Orlando, and take later evening flights when I go home.
For example if you have a flight leaving orlando at 7am they take u to the airport at 4am (Ouch!)

So, I personally use magic express on the day I arrive. On the day I depart I use Lyft or Uber for a ride back to the airport,
so I can stay at Disney a little longer :)

It's a great benefit when u fly...no need to rent a car and your bags are put right into your room. I love it.
