Drivers Ed

So today's my last day of Drivers Ed. And I was just wondering when you got to take it and when you get your permit/license.

I would go into a little bit more detail about me but I am leaving in like 5 minutes.

In Rhode Island:
You have to be 15 and 10 months to take drivers ed
and you can take your permit test on your 16th birthday.

I took drivers ed a couple months ago. Where I'm at you have to be 14 to take drivers ed. I've already gotton my permit. And 15 to get your restricted [I think] License then at 16 you get your regular license.

I'll talk more later I have to leave for school.

Over here I think you get your permit at 16 and your licence at 18...

In NH we don't have permits. You can start driving
when you're 15 1/2 (September 4th for me!) and
you can get your license when you're 16. With drivers
ed you just have to have turned 16 the day the course
ends or before.

We take drivers ed in school. So this year I will be taking it. You have to drive 6 hours with an instructor and Then at 16 I get my permit. And at 17 I get my license.

In MA you can take Drivers Ed when you are 15 and 9 months. You can get your permit at 16, but you actually don't have to take Driver's Ed before you take the written permit test. Then you have 2 years before your permit expires, so in that time you must take and pass Driver's Ed, do 6 driving hours with your driving school (behind the wheel) and 6 observation hours (someone else behind the wheel) and then like 25 (not sure they changed it like a year after I got my license) hours driving with a parent.

When you have your permit you must drive with someone 21+ that has had their MA license for one year or more in the passenger seat.

You can get your license at 16 1/2, provided you meet all the requirements. Your test is a road test, and you drive with a statie. You have to do basic things like lights, stop signs, then 3point turns, backing up 50 ft straight line, and sometimes they make you parallel park. I didn't have to and I stopped in the middle of a crosswalk and I still passed!

Then once you have your license, you can't drive anybody under 18 unless they are your immediate family, or there's a 21+ adult in the passenger seat. This is for 6months. You are also considered a Jr Operator until you are 18, which means you can't drive between midnight and 5 am unless you're with a parent.

I'm taking driver's ed this weekend and next weekend
You get your permit at 15 1/2
And you get your liscense at 16

Where I live you get your permit after taking a written test when you turn 16 (which will be me soon!)
Then you take driver's ed for about three months, then you pass the road test, and get your license. So if all goes well, I could get my license before I'm 16 1/2!

Here you take driver's ed in 10th grade. You get your permit at 15 1/2 when you pass the written test. Driver's license at 16 and 3 months. You take the driving test with a driver's ed. teacher.

I actually took Drivers Ed in Mass even though I'm from Rhode Island. I took it at Labonte's; You've probably seen the commercials if you're from Mass: 1-877-DRIVE-ED Who's ED?

The Mass people were getting all mad at the RI people because everything is cheaper in RI to get the license and permit. We basically have all the same rules.

In Michigan you take segment 1. After you pass you get a segment one permit. You drive on that for a certain number of hours then take segment 2. After you pass that you get a segment 2 permit, and once you pass that, you get a restricted license that you're on until you turn 18.

In Florida you take drivers ed, and once you pass you get a learners permit that you drive on for a year, then you get your license.

I like Michigan's system more. Less idiotic drivers.
