I live in Washington, anyone from here ever drive? It says that it is only a 18 hour drive. But has anyone ever driven?

Not sure where in Washington you are coming from, but we used to drive to Oregon to visit family and unless my dad did the all nighter, we spent the night along the way... I would guess that you would want to allow time for a sleep over somewhere along the way...

Safe travels! :sunny:

We live in Eugene OR and I laugh because map quest says that it should take 11 hours to get there from our house. We have two kids so we have to stop more and I don't know if that makes a difference, but It took us closer to 16 hours with traffic etc. Have fun on your trip.

We live in Idaho right by the Washington border. From Lewiston where we live it is about 20-24 hours so sleeping somewhere on the way is the thing to do. around the Redding area. One thing to remember is that the online maps dont take weather like fog or snow. It is IN IDEAL conditions. Our time on mapqwest is 20 hours (rounded up)
Bathroom eats gas thoes things take up time so add 5 hours to what the computer said. We actually take 3 days to go down so we sleep in redmond oregon and in stockton ca. Get to Disneyland in the afternoon. Spend the remainder of that day at Downtown disney then the next morning (3 day PH tickets)Hit the parks. So we get 4 days to check everything out without using one of our days (ticket days) on Downtown Disney

Well I live in Moses Lake. I thought about staying in Redding Ca also.
But it would be in April or July.

Well April can still have fog but snow should be gone for most of the trip I'm sure. The thing to remember is if you try to rush it it is so hard to recoup. Our Kids are 11 and 15 and we will be leaving fri April 20th after work (2:00) so we are doing a little bit the first day and then go from there. My hubby does not like to drive 12 hours It makes him tired and the kids get sick of the trip.. so just relax and enjoy the VACATION.that means the trip down too. :moped:
Our drive takes us through the tri Cities then we go down through Redmond OR instead of going to Portland. Some people prefer the Portland route but to each his own.

That is the same route I plan on taking. But if i wait until July i would leave on June 30th and return on July 7th. so i could be back to work on the 9th. I am in school so if i do take my kids in july we might have to flly over Easter weekend for their spring break. I would take them out of school for my spring break but they have already missed the first week of school while we were in Orlando, WDW. so I don't think their teachers would appreciate it if i were to take them out again.
But if we did drive in April we would leave around 2 and drive until about 9 or 10. then stop for the night, hopefully if i figured right it would be right around Redding, CA. The leave by 7 or 8 am at the latest.
