Drive Time?

If I'm renting a car and driving myself, what time should I plan to leave my resort (POP) to make an 8:00 am flight out of MCO on a Tuesday morning?

I would add time for gassing up, returning the car, and dealing with getting to the terminal from the return area..

Thanks for the advice... I was thinking 6A, so I'll have to reconsider. Would that advice change if it was a Saturday morning instead of a weekday?

On a saturday, I would consider leaving just a few minutes earlier, because a lot of people fly out early saturday morning.

You really do need to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight. Security can take forever at MCO - it took my friend 45 minutes to clear security on a saturday morning this summer. It's better to be an hour early than 1 minute late.
