Drive time = Bus time?

Out of curiosity I was looking on Mapquest at how long they say the drive times are from resorts to the Magic Kingdom. And some things surprised me.

POFQ to MK= 9 minutes. Sports to MK also = 9 minutes. While CSR to MK = 8 minutes. POP to MK = 11 minutes. I always thought POFQ had a shorter time than Sports, but maybe it is because the other resorts hop on the highway?

So do you think that those times carry over to the bus times as well? Would a bus ride from CSR to MK be a smidge shorter than a bus ride from POFQ?

I have found that most of the drive times found on the maps are similar to the actual drive time of the buses. They might be a bit shorter or longer based on the drop off points being on different routes than a car would go.

The drive from CSR is probably just a bit shorter then POFQ. I find that Vista Drive speeds tend to be a bit slower and sometimes backups happen around Fort Wilderness. World Drive may be a bit busier, but tends to move quicker and with the new separation of the road to go to the resorts and MK bus depot versus when they had to go through the toll booth lanes.

Perhaps not comparing apples and apples. Keep in mind that bus rides to the MK actually go to the MK. Driving to the MK actually means driving to the main parking lot and then taking the monorail or ferry over to the MK.

Also, remember that your car goes on your schedule. The bus goes on its own schedule which probably means having to include waiting at the bus stop.

I tend to use Google Maps and select the bus depot for MK when checking how long the bus ride will be. I just figured that was the location the OP was using for MK.

any bus ride to MK is going to be shorter than driving as you have to take ferry or monorail to park from parking

could be either way. but from times you list I am guessing bus is faster based on what I know from Fort Wilderness as it is a slow ride over but boat is only way from there unless you drive but when you add in trip from parking to park it is faster to use boat than drive

No, because if there's a boat between resorts, there's no bus, and the reverse.

WL has a bus to MK. Before the Reflections build started, FW guests could take a bus to WL and then take that bus to WL. Not sure if that works or not.

In a response to an earlier post, the boat ride from FW to MK is about 15 minutes.

You're right. Sorry. I was thinking of just the three Seven Seas Lagoon resorts.
