Living in GA, we always drive. Staying in a resort, Are we better off driving to parks on a daily basis or taking the bus? We don't get parkhopper, so only one park per day.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

We prefer the Bus and we always have our car as we are Flordia residents. I would rather let some one else do the driving while on vacation and get in a vehicle that has not been melting in the sun. We also hate parking and walking to the trams etc.

It's Monorail, Boat, or Bus for us.

If going to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom for ropedrop - Drive.
You will get a very close parking spot and the entrance is a short walk (or tram ride if you're a little further).
Added bonus is that you don't have to play the 'when does the bus come' guessing game for opening.
Downside - your car will be very hot when you get to it - no air-conditioned bus to hop on.

Anything else - bus.

I'd also like to add, since you will be doing one park per day ...
If you snagged a good spot at AK or HS in the morning - take the bus back and forth to your break (if you're taking one) - and then your car will still be in a nice close spot when you're ready to leave for the night (and the hot car problem will be less).

One of the reasons I love staying on property is so that I don't have to drive. For us, it's less stressful for us to take WDW transportation. I realize this is totally a personal thing, and for others, it's less stressful to drive.

We drive everywhere except the Magic Kingdom. We hate having to ride the ferry or monorail to get back to the car. We live in Alabama and always drive. It's so nice to just go jump in the car when you are ready to go. The bus lines can be brutal, especially early mornings and late nights.

We drive. I think the signs are super easy to follow.

I have a hard time keeping to a bus schedule in the morning and I hate standing around for a bus, and then standing on the bus vs just going back to my car and having a seat available at the temperature I want.

If you drive to MK you'll have to ride the parking tram to TTC then take either the ferry or monorail across the lagoon to MK. The bus drops you off right at MK. So I'd recommend taking the bus to MK and driving to the other parks.

We only drive. I love having the freedom to come and go on our own schedule. It makes everything easier for us. But thats just our opinion. :)

The only time we don't drive is if we're leaving MK immediately after Wishes, then we'll take the bus because the wait and crowd to get back to parking can be intense.

we live in AL too and drive.... If staying on-site we only avoid driving to the MK....the MK parking is at the ticket center and getting there from the ticket center takes up what time u save driving vs the resort bus...we drive to the other 3 parks :rolleyes1 with our family of 5 and a double stroller.... it's easier for sure.

Yiu might want to post this thread on Transportation Board also. Those folks have a wealth of information to help you. Danny

Even though we have our car there because we always drive and never fly, we always take the bus to the parks. We have never had any issues with the buses when we have went. We park our car at the resort and don't get it in again until we leave.

We drive everywhere. Our variable is the stroller. Once we are away from having it, we will reassess it and most likely use the bus more often. We also walk at all 4 parks. Stroller on the tram is the worst. So at MK we walk to the TTC and then take either mono or ferry in.

Edit to add that we are also from Georgia, so what I say should have more weight than others. :rolleyes1

It depends upon where you are staying. We just stayed at AK and the transportation was awful to MK especially, but staying at an EPCOT or MK resort the transportation was great. We plan to take a car if we stay there again.
