We are thinking about getting the ferry over from Toronto to Rochester and wondered how long the drive is from Rochester to Syracuse ?
What is flying time from Syracuse to Orlando ?
Thanks

Not exactly sure but I think it will take you a little over an hour to get from the ferry terminal to the airport. The flying time should be about 2 1/2 hours for a direct non-stop flight. Who are you flying with?

We're not sure yet because its a still a ways off and we were looking at Jet Blue and American Eagle (among others) and noticed some pretty good deals.

The only airline out of Syracuse that has direct flights is TransMeridian. They can be found at TransMeridian.
It'll take about an 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get to SYR from Rochester via the thruway (I90).

Rochester has AirTran who offer some pretty good deals, and some direct flights.

Have you tried flights out of Buffalo? They have Southwest which also offers some good deals and direct flights. You could drive to Buffalo from Toronto in about the same time it would take for the ferry.

I mention these airlines because you don't usually find their flights or prices on the major travel sites (Orbitz, Expedia, etc.) and we fly from Syracuse often, but can sometimes find better deals out of ROC or BUF.

I'm driving from Kingston to Buffalo (via Syracuse) to fly Southwest this coming week. I tried to get a flight out of Syracuse on JetBlue but I had to switch planes in NY which would not have bothered me at all but Southwest had the cheaper flights and they fly direct to Orlando out of Buffalo. Unless you want to see the sights in Syracuse I think you are far better off flying out of Buffalo since it sounds like it is closer and it should offer you more flight options. But then again, I am not exactly an expert on flying out of either airport.

I agree with Alexander...

I don't know for sure, but I would think it would be 1.5+ hours from the ferry to SYR. It would probably be 20 min to the Rochester Airport from the ferry. Everything seem to take 20 min in Rochester!

Airtran is the only nonstop from ROC. JetBlue also flys from ROC with a stop at JFK (like SYR and BUF).

And Transmeridian doesn't fly into Orlando airport, they fly into Stanford airport - meaning you can't use ME if you were planning to.

We are flying Delta out of SYR and it will take us about 5 hours to get to Orlando, with a stop in Atlanta.

On the NYS Thruway Rochester to Syracuse is 68.3 miles toll is $2.65 and drive time according to the Thruway Authority is 1 hr and 3 minutes (you will make it faster, or get run over, LOL). From the dock thru Rochester is quite a trip thru the city, so I'd figure a while (Maybe a half hour, but i'm really guessing) depending on time of day, The airport in SYR is close to the exit and not too bad to get to, so maybe 10 mins there.
