Does anyone know if it's possible to have a package & hosted bar? I have a few 'drinkers' coming but not enough guests will be drinking alcohol to benefit from the package bar but I know with the soft drinks it would work out cheaper having the package rather than hosted bar.
So I was thinking perhaps I could pay for the soft drinks package for everyone and then have the alcohol as a hosted bar, hope that makes sense.

*bump* I'm interested too since we're in the same boat :)

The only complication I see with doing a soda package + a hosted bar for liquor is that Disney charges a $100 fee for hosted and package bars that sell less than $500. Since you would be having both and not a lot of heavy drinkers, I would worry that they'd charge you the $100 fee for one or both bars. But it depends on your guest count and how long your reception is—maybe you'd already be paying more than $500 for that soda package, in which case you'd only have the possibility of one fee.

You can also do hosted/ package at different times during the night. We are doing an open bar before dinner (at the pre-reception) and after then dinner (3.5 hrs total). During dinner we are closing the bar and serving wine at the tables (picked a selection of 5 wines). This way, IMO, has its advantages:

1. No worry about people hopping up and down during formal dinner
2. We get to serve better wine at dinner, when people are more likely to notice (We selected better wines for the dinner service and went with the call brands bar the rest of the time - figure people won't notice too much after dinner and a few drinks what the brands are, lol.)

Just a thought...

I didn't even think of that, I just presumed if it were possible they'd only charge the $100 once. We'd never be paying more than $500 for drinks either way as it were only having an Escape wedding with around 12 guests and out of that I'd say only about 4, maybe 5 at the most would bother drinking alcohol.
