All throughout high school, I never drank.
(...Ok that's a lie, but the only alcohol I had in high school was wine at family dinners, and even then it was only a glass or two...My grandfather is very Italian and a wine conosur, so we have wine at mostly every dinner with them. My mother let me have wine when I was like 15...)
I was involved in an anti-drugs and alcohol community service outreach program, and most of my closest friends did not drink. Sure, I knew LOADS of people who partied in high school, and the stories I heard, especially after Senior Prom weekend, were full of drunken hookups and stuff like that.
But I still did not drink.
Then I went to college.
My college has a HUGE greek life (11 frat houses), so there is always a party going on. However, I did not go to a frat until mid November of my freshman year, and only had one beer.
I drink, yes, but I am not a big partier. With me, it's social drinking. We have a couple shots, or a few mixed drinks while playing Kings, but normally, not that much.
I have never not remembered a night and have only thrown up once from drinking too much.
However, all that is about to change. I have been having some health problems, and the medicine I got works through the liver, so alcohol is a BIG no-no now. So for at least the rest of this semester, I will be the sober/DD person.
