Alright ! So, first of all, this is gonna be a polemic thread.

I've got a lot of friends who are alumnis (ICP's) both under and +21. What I've been told is that a whole lot of ppl get away drinking underaged, but meanwhile, I read here in the threads that a whole lot of ppl is get caught and terminated.

My alumni friends told me that you have to be really dumb to get caught (AKA drinking in underaged apartments) and security only knocks at your door if you are really loud.

That being said, my assumption is that if you are careful enough and only drink in +21 apartments and don't make a fuss about it you can get away just fine. What do you guys think ?

And another question: there are some rumours that unders are not allowed to be in +21 apartments anymore. I've heard recently that an under was in a party in a +21 apartment (and not drinking) but security knocked at the door and still he almost got terminated. (I'm assuming this is some really new rule 'cause I know a lot of ppl who were at +21 apartments while there was a party going on and everything went just fine).

Disney has the right to terminate your employment if you are under 21, and you get caught drinking, regardless of where and when you're caught. You were fully aware of this policy when you agreed to work for Disney. It's up to you if you want to take the risk of being caught.

Knowing that Security can and will enter any apartment at any time, and they don't need proof, just suspicions, I wouldn't chance it, but that's just me.

Is it really worth the risk - getting fired from Disney?

What I meant was if I am in a +21 apartment and not drinking, while there's other +21 ppl drinking, can I still get terminated ? It seems unfair to get terminated in this case since I'd be only hanging out with my friends.

And alumnis told me its not really "they just need a suspiscion", there's a whole process in this situation. Anyway, just saying what I've heard !

If you are under 21, and you are found to be drinking anywhere, you will be terminated.

Yes, you would have to be discovered drinking, but all it takes is for one person to call and tell security.

My advice, is not to do it. You will have plenty of time to drink legally and w/o worry.

Well things have changed from my CP days!! there was no distinction in 21+ or "underage" apartments, and security set up a "party tent" with the warning that only 21+ could drink there-BYOB- ( no one ever checked) but getting caught drinking under 21 could be grounds for termination (getting "caught" meant you did something really really stupid). They did not want you drinking in the apartment but didn't separate "of age" from "underage", and more or less said-if you are going to drink to: be smart, and do it in the "party tent" so you wouldn't get kicked out for having rowdy parties in apartments. However some of the wildest parties were on internationals side...:rotfl:

I actually turned 21 on my CP-back in the day of "nickel beer" on Church street(still have those mugs!!), Jungle Jims, and Fireworks (backdoor) era...

Disney could terminate you for wearing a blue t-shirt or walking on the north side of the street or making eye contact with someone who is having a bad day. None of the things I listed nor being in someone else's apartment are protected classes so they can do whatever they want. They can even decide to terminate an employee who wears a blue shirt and not terminate an employee wearing the exact same shirt. Just because someone wasn't terminate for being under 21 in an apartment while others were drinking doesn't give you a leg to stand on if you get caught. You don't even actually need to be in there, if they suspect you were they can still terminate you and it would be perfectly legal. Welcome to employment. Continue at your own risk.

My daughter is a current CP and it's her understanding that simply having someone under 21 in her apartment when people are drinking could result in everyone in the apartment being terminated (even if they didn't invite the underage person into the apartment). She could just be misinterpreting the rules but that is her understanding of them.
