I'm going to be traveling to Disney in August with my girlfriend, and DD's (9 & 7). Do many people at Epcopt drink when they have their kids with them? I'm not talking about excessive consumption, but I would like to have a Margarita in Mexico, and a couple beers throughout my trip around the world! Any thoughts or examples of proper behavior in the parks??

I think it's acceptable to have a few drinks. We went last week with DS2 and DH had 3 beers and I had a Grey Goose Slush. We weren't affected at all. And I didn't notice any bad looks!

Of course it's okay. It's like going to dinner with your kids at a local restaurant and having a beer or a drink with dinner. As long as you're not getting drunk, no one will look twice at you.

Of course it's ok!:thumbsup2 DH and I have holding our drinks and pushing the double stroller down to a science.:rotfl2:

:rotfl: DH and I have been working on perfecting the one handed push of two strollers..while I sip a Grand Mairnier Orange Slush from France. Usually I have to finish before we get to Germany so he can get his Optimator (or whatever the heck it is).

I guess I never thought about what anyone thought of our show..as long as we weren't running into them.

I think it is absolutely fine to have a drink or two, we almost always do when we are in Epcot and we have our DD8 with us. As long as you are not visibly intoxicated I don't think anyone will look twice at you! :thumbsup2 I always like to have a margarita in Mexico, and we usually share a large warm saki when we dine at Teppan Edo. It is also not uncommon for each of us to have an adult beverage with our dinner. ;)

One of my favorite things about Epcot is being able to get a drink and walk around outside with it. I had a glass of wine from France and was roaming all over last time, I felt totally European!

And hey, if you're staying on property at least you don't have to drive :).

I plan to indulge in one of the awesome peach slushies at the China stand (soooo NOM, so underrated). Modeling responsible drinking is the only consideration. And be sure to drink water in between each drink since it is so dehydrating.

I think the rules should be as follows:
--shotgunning German beers is discouraged
--riding Mission Space, Soarin' or Test Track while blotto is inadvisable
--getting loaded in England and trying to check out what Off-Kilter has going on under there is prohibited
--drunkenly getting in an argument with Crush about where to find the best tasty waves is poor form

Any I missed?

I never thought about this one.. I guess me and the DH just assumed we had to drink our drinks only with dinner... hmmmm walk around epcot and drink. My mother makes wine I should tell her about that one it might get her to disney quicker :rotfl2:

Nothing like strolling around Epcot with a freshly poured strongbow in hand!!LOL

we have always made sure to stop at the Rose & Crown and grab one! However this last time I was BF so drinking was not on my mind, and some of these other drinks look so good, maybe dh and I need to plan a mommy daddy only trip and drink ourselves around the world...... taking this into a 2 or 3 day event as to do it in 1 day would not be good!!

I very rarely drink, but would have no problem having a couple drinks at Epcot, even with my kids along. I know I'm fine with 1-2 drinks, so that would be the limit for me.
