For New Years Eve, DBF and I want to snack and drink our way around World Showcase. :drinking:

My question is: can you do this (get a drink at every pavillion) without incorporating beer?

See, I know I want to start with a margarita in Mexico, but I am one of those people who can't mix beer and liquor. :crazy2: I either need to start and stay with beers or start and stay with liquor-- and I'd really rather start and stay with liquor but I don't recall any in Germany or America...

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Maybe wine would be an option? Don't know if that combination will cause ill effects for you  . Aside from that, not really a big enough drinker to give any other options, we usually have the kids with us. Maybe someone else can chime in :confused3 ?

Yep, you definitely can. I've drunk around the world a few times and I can't stand beer.

It does limit you in, say, the UK if you don't drink hard cider, but they have a full bar.

Also, I would start early enough because of the lines on NYE.

Edit: when I do this, I always start in Canada so I can't taste the margaritas in Mexico... Margaritas are my one of my favorite drinks but not the ones in Epcot! Also, we start at Le Cellier with lunch for Canada. I'd have to check again if that popcorn cart sells non-beer drinks as well. And America only has Smirnoff Ice as an alternative. I skip it and get two drinks somewhere else.

Whew...11 countries on hard liquor? I haven't tried anything like that since college ;)

I just graduated, so every time I've done it I've been in college :teeth:

Drinking around the World with my brother for our birthdays this fall since he's turning 21...at the Food and Wine Fest. Not all the booths, but we'll give it a good try!

England - wine, depending how I feel may get 2, skip Canada - no wine, Mexico -margarita or 2 - usually layered or mango, Norway - wine, China only if they have plum wine, Germany - wine, Italy - wine, Japan - plum wine, Morocco - can't remember, France - wine or champagne

:)

That's a good idea, here's how I do it:

Canada: wine at Le Cellier with lunch
UK: Strongbow cider half yard
France: wine
Morocco: fruity mixed drink at the pastry counter at Tangierine Cafe
Japan: plum wine
America: skip, get another drink wherever I feel like it
Italy: wine and limoncello - have to be pretty toasted to do the limoncello, it burns
Germany: wine or shot
China: plum wine
Norway: viking coffee
Mexico: yucky margarita, but I can't taste it by then :)

Ooh now that sounds like a plan-- I love Strongbow! I'll keep in mind the lines on NYE, too. Good thing we're staying at Beach Club so we can stumble back! :rotfl:

Oh and HeatherPage, I'm only two years out of college so my drinking skills haven't declined all that much (although for the sake of my paycheck they should!! ;) )

Good to hear you like Strongbow - it's fantastic on tap. I'm spoiled now! We almost always get a half yard when we go these days.

And don't forget those snacks as well - definitely keep your stomach full and fit in some water. We tried doing it for my friend's 21st birthday this year but had to quit in the middle because we did it in June and it was terribly hot, so it's good you're doing it in December :)

Yes, I'm a mother now and almost 33 and about falling asleep on the computer here at 10:30 at night so by some folks standards I'm probably ancient and this is about the extent of my nightlife anymore (surfin' on the net) :teeth:

Of course I did go (albeit briefly) to East Carolina University, not sure if anyone here has heard of them (their reputation for partying precedes them). You've heard of the saying burned with the heat of 1,000 suns (or something to that effect) while I drank with the liver of 1,000 drunks (or so it felt like at times), definitely don't miss those days (fun as they were at the time). Well you guys have fun on your quest, I"m sure you are alot more responsible at your age than I was :)
