Drinking around the world?

Not to sound silly, but I am assuming you can walk out with the alcoholic beverages in hand and keep walking? Sorry first time going to WDW :goodvibes

My dh and I are really looking forward to doing the "drinking around the world".

If you buy them at a drink stand or in a store, you can walk around the park with them. But you can't leave the park with alcoholic beverages. If you buy them at a restaurant, you have to keep them in the restaurant.

France has the best drinks, Grand Manier Slushie, Grey Goose Slushie, and a Pomegranate champange drink! I also like the margarita in Mexico. I wasn't too crazy about the Sultan's Colada, it was OK but the resort Pina Colada's are soooooo much better!

I can't drink a whole lot, so sharing is a good idea, also the drinks in France are pretty small compared to other countries, so that is helpful to me as a lightweight!

I just loved the Welsh Dragon.....

People love the slushies at France but they're not very strong IMHO and a poor dollar value Disney drinking wise (unless you're a lightweight drinker and buzz factor is not a consideration)...same for the fiesta margaritas which are a shadow of their former self.

I love a beer from Germany, a Grey Goose Slushy or Grand Marnier Slushy from France, and for a refreshing alternative I enjoy the Italian Margarita from Italy made w/ Lemoncello Liquor and Grappa! Yum!

and yes most of the drinks are light in alcohol, but hey I still want to be upright while doing the parks! The harder stuff is for relaxing at night after Rocking Roller Coaster and Space Mountain.

for those interested in doing beers around the world or drinks around the world, I made a check list for those who are so ambitious ;)

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
Let's hope it takes more than one trip to have all of them checked off!

I am looking forward to doing DATW this year, with two college aged friends. I will drink every other country.

One year, when I went with my mom, we did DessertATW. That was fun too. Oh, the rice cream at Norway.....

But my fav drinks are the ones mentioned above - the Welsh Dragon and the Grand Marnier Slushie!

When at DTD I love to get a banana split drink at the Rainforest Cafe. It is wonderful and sweet - and I believe one of the only places to get a actual ice cream based ice cream drink. All of 'ice cream' drinks I have had in Disney have ice cubes and cream. Capitan Jacks also has a nice outdoor place to sit by the water and have a pina colada or beer by the water.

We always stop at the Poly for a drink. It just seems 'right'.

The California Grill at the top of the Contemporary has the best old fashions. They mull in all the fruit the way they are supposed to. It is also nice to grab a drink there and watch wishes.

For those who like the Welsh dragon, is it strong? It looks yummy, but it also looks huge!

Where abouts do you go at the Poly?? I used to go there with my parents way back in the early 80's and remember them raving about the awesome drinks. Just can't remember where. I do remember it looking like something right out of Pirates of the Carrib......

I love the English Rose at Rose and Crown, you can get one in the pub or the restaurant. I was at the bar at the Poly and had a drink but I did not see the Lapu Lapu on the drink menu. Is it there or only in Ohana? Any help with this.

The bar is located on the second level (same as the monorail drop off) right outside the entrance to Ohana. It can get pretty crowded but has some really nice tropical drinks.

I am looking so forward to trying many of these drinks. We are staying ten nights and half of them will be at EPCOT to eat at the different restaurants and try the alcoholic beverages. I have to pace myself because I am a lightweight! I am not looking to stumble around like a drunken mess.

Our tour around the world was for my 26th birthday and my "bachlorette party" For my birthday I actually got a Joey McIntyre pin from the NKOTB...we call this day the Joey Mac world tour! enjoy the pics
we started with lunch in mexico

I showed my DH this post, he was really excited about it so he had me print both up and then suggest that we lamenate them so we can take them on our trip in December. He also wants to bring along a dry erase marker so he can keep this for future trips as well :rotfl:.....after reading back what I just wrote, it really makes us look like lushes :rotfl2:

We loved the Vidal Ice Wine at the Canada booth at the Food & Wine Festival. Very sweet.

My husband hated the sake. Too strong for him.

Sorry we missed the free beer at the Sam Adams tasting! My husband loves Sam Adams.
