OK, I was reading this Fabulous thread over on the restaurants board, with pictures of drinks.
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1183926
And I saw some of you have posted picts there as well!! :rolleyes1

This got me to thinking, how many of you have "drank around the world" at Epcot?? Ok, or tried to??

Not counting the Food And Wine Fest, thats too easy..

I have drank different drinks around the world, but have never made it my point of the day, to stop and try it all!

Anyone?

We considered it, but never made it happen. Corey is such an easy tipsy drunk that half way through a glass of anything and she is there. 3 Drinks of anything and she is sloshed to the point of needing a keeper. I don't think that we could do it. Well, I probably could if I had a keeper by the time I reached the end, but Corey, God bless her wouldn't even make it back to the American Pavillion from either end. :rotfl2:

We had a LOVELY time drinking around the world. I am a light weight, but the "Leon" is able to hang with the big boys. We did a full around the world a few times in the past. The only challenge is the need to rehydrate! A tip - - - - if you cannot make it full round, break it in half. Do one half one day and the other another day. It makes for great fun. Everything takes on a whole new view with a little "elixir."

Is it possible to go to EPCOT without drinking around the world? :confused3

Oh we will be at food and wine fest! I plan to make this happen! I have not had a drink at Epcot before. I usually behave with my kids. However, I fully intend to be umm.... feeling nice on Epcot day!

I can't wait!

Mike you are a lush...

In September, we might be trying it with some of the other disboard members...and if we buy into AKL like we are planning...yeah...I'm going to probably need a few to get past the money we just dropped.

Last time that I was at Epcot (1995) it was impossible to "drink around the world" as not every pavillion sold alcohol! January 2009, I will give it a valiant attempt. (Going solo and no rental car - staying at OKW). Will probably do mostly beer, with a possible Grey Goose slushy in Canada.

As we were staying in All Star Music in January we thought that we would go to EPCOT and drink our way around the world - but we thought that we would have to take out a second mortgage to pay for it!!! We worked it out that it would have cost us over $200, not including tips!:scared1:

So, we just had a drink in some parts of the world, and carried them around with us, so in reality; we DID drink our way around.

If you don't want to break the bank (and there are at least 2 people drinking together) you can always split the drinks. We did this at Epcot during Gay Days and I think we hit all the countries except for Canada (which I plan to remedy next time we plan a drink-a-long.

We find it works best to start in Mexico on one visit, then start in Canada the next time. That way when we (inevitably) start to fade, at least we don't get to the point where it's always "We missed Canada, again!"

I know. But to be fair to myself (and all others that drank with us) I plead alcohol amnesia. I know for sure I had a margarita in Mexico, peach slushie in China, beer in Germany, Sake in Japan, punch in Morocco, Lemonade slushie in France, and beer in England. Upon further review, it seems I missed more than Canada (or possibly not, but I just don't remember)! We'll be there for F&W this year (without kids) and I will attempt to make it all the way around. I think starting in Canada is a good idea, but during F&W I always go to the Sam Adams tasting, so it is unlikely I will make it much further. :faint:

Are you going to be at F&W festival over a Saturday? If so, I HIGHLY recommend the Party for the Senses. Especially if you like wines. But even without the wines, the food is amazing! It's pricey, but totally worth it!

We do like trying out different wines. JaxPiper has also wanted to do the evening with Jim Koch (sam Adams) for a few years now, but we've never been able to make it down for that (since it's usually on a Thursday).

But what's the big deal about Canada there? I've been many times and I just don't get it, unless it's the Flower and Garden Fest, where they have nice topiaries, I haven't seen anything really exciting there. Is the movie good? The food?! Someone help!! LOL

I haven't tried to drink around the world though, I am a VERY talkative drunk. In other words, I don't even have to know you and I'm already chiming in on your conversation about particulate matter diversion (if that's real). And sounding like I know a thing or two. LOL. I'll try to have a few when I'm there in Sept though, those pins better be a good silencer. LOL.

Off Kilter is our main attraction in Canada. With a piper in the family it's one thing we never miss. Watching Off Kilter while enjoying a beer (or two...or three) is always fun.

We don't have a piper in the family, but we still LOVE Off Kilter! They're great!

Plus Jamie and Mark are HOT!

We always get hung up in one country. The "let's stop for a drink" always turns into "HOW LONG have we been sitting in Rose and Crown?"

When we were at EPCOT last month, I tried the Grey Goose slushie in France for the first time. It was delish. Linda slurped down the Gran Marnier slushie in about 30 seconds flat, so I'm guessing she liked that as well.

We always love the margaritas in Mexico ... that's our traditional first drink in EPCOT. One of those is sounding good right about now!

I highly recommend Drinking Around the World! I did this last year with a group of friends and it was one of our favorite days. We started in Canada and ended in Mexico with a Margerita during Illuminations. We found the key was to try and have something to eat in every other country. Without a few snacks here and there we would have been puddles.......
