We're debating doing this and have read a few scattered reports of people who have done it but cost is the main limiting factor - along with being buzzed by 2pm. I dont want to drop a C-note at EPCOT just to say Ive had a beer in every country. Then again we are saving a ton with the free dining next month...
If anyone has done this (or tried to) Id like to some feedback. Also if anyone wants a go at trying it we could be convinced to make a "world-crawl" out of it Sept 10-16. :thumbsup2

Only once (pre kids!)... and it was pricey!

Drinks are usually in the $5-$10 range and you've got Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Morroco, France, UK, and Canada... so 11 places to hit... yup, just about a C-note!

Maybe spread it out over a few days? (if you've got enough park day passes)...

Have fun!

We try to do it every long vacation (when we're there for a week or so) as it generally takes up most of a day. I really don't know the cost (I put everything on the room which makes things seem free :teeth: ).

Regardless, I highly recommend it. There are plenty of establishments across the USA where you could find drinks representing each country, but the atmosphere just ain't the same.

I know many people start in Canada and work their way around. I prefer to start in Mexico with a frozen margharita for breakfast/lunch before moving on to Norway, etc.

Remember, you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning!

The BEST time of year for this is the "Food and Wine Festival" in the fall... they always have a great Beer Garden and lots of wine options... LOTS of fun! :thumbsup2

I like your thinking MadToad. If it was just me Id be all over that but my fiancee is more foo-fooie, for lack of a better term, and her drinks would probably be double the cost of mine (if they even have any anywhere besides mexico).

I have tried once and failed miserably. I think it was due to the 90+ degree weather and empty stomach. I will try again in Dec!

My daughter and stepdaughter have decided we are going to do this on our trip in November. What they don't know is that I have purchased the Epcot Passports for each of them and they have to have the CM in each country sign the book and they have to enter the drink that they had. Just to make it a little more fun! :drinking1

i do it everytime i go, i have a special place in my heart for beer :drinking1 :rotfl2: my dg always gets wine or some kind of fruity drink in most of the countrys so i end up spending close to $200 but the more you drink the less important money seems to be.....hmmm this makes me think. i now know why they sell boose in every country. clever disney, very clever  i also start in mexico and work my way around. i like to start around 1 or so, this leaves you about 8 hrs to hammer down some brews and then enjoy illuminations. goodluck and enjoy

I drank around the world once...and it was tough. I made it through every country except Canada (I couldn't stomach one more beer!), but I was still very intoxicated when I was done. My best advice, make sure to have somebody with you who isn't drinking, sort of a designated walker. I was glad I had my two friends with me! Have fun!

we will be drinkin around the world on 9/8 epcot has emh that night so it works out great!! this will be my third time around! i never really calculated the money but oh well whats a matter anyway with free dining!!!!! :cool1:

There's a reason to go during Food and Wine. :drinking1

It's allocated for my girl's weekend in November. Yes, we're starting in Mexico with lunch and Margaritas. Mexican food is a great absorber. My best friend from college has been instructed to keep me away from the Funnle Cakes in the Ameircan Adventure. Anyhow the only time I've ever lost it was after eating the half dozen Krispy Kreame donuts on the night of my 21st Birthday, keep me away from the Funnle Cakes and I'll be fine.
:drinking1

I've been saving change all year to afford the night's activities. :cool1:

We did that for a while until we got, um, too distracted to keep up with it!

We did a variation of this where we had drinks but every third country we had a snack instead. Don't really remember the bus ride back to the WL though and boy was it hard to get out of bed the next day.

The key is having a Designated Walker and "House Rules".

Our house rules:

You don't have to drink in the country you're from if you don't want to. It also gives some of the players a "home field" advantage if you happen to come from a country that has a more potent offering...or if you plain don't like the alcohol from your country. I choose to drink in my homeland, I like the Fiesta Margarita. ;)

Everyone does not have to order a drink in each country, you can share. As long as everyone has at least tasted the alcohol, it counts.

If a country has fake drinks, you can skip it if you want. I blame Norway. They do not offer an actual Norwegian beer. Morocco, on the other hand, requires extra drinking because they have frozen drinks that taste really good with the crepes that are in the stand nearby.

You are allowed to bail at Japan to go ride Mission Space. It is best to do this *before* you drink the Sake, not *after*.

:lmao: :rotfl2:

LOL, my DH and I tried that way back pre our children days. We got half way around and I was fairly drunk. I know how I got out of the park :rotfl2:

We enjoy trying different beers and this last trip we just got one and shared. Still, we only did a couple countries.

Our goal the last trip was to eat around the countries. We got a snack in each country. Not drunk but man were we full!!

Thank you for the comprehensive info!

We do this on every trip to Epcot now! The best was last year when we went for the first time to Food & Wine. We started on the Canada side and had stopped at so many of the kiosks, by Germany I could not eat or drink another thing!!! It was fabulous!!! :drinking1 :dogdance:

I love doing this, but I just get too full!

We learned to share drinks and snacks, and it works great. Don't forget to drink water and keep food in your tummy too otherwise it won't be fun because you won't feel good. It's a fun challenge to keep the buzz, but not get overloaded. Oh yeah, and don't forget asprin!
