:coffee: We have stayed at "POP" since we began going with the kids in 2004 and we noticed the first time that the "Cokes" are Flat and the coffee is the worst I have ever tasted. I will not even have coffee there now.
Has anyone stayed at POP who has ALSO stayed at another Value or a Moderate resort, that can tell me if all the "Resort" drinks are Flat and gross ??
:confused3 :crazy2:
I had a theory that maybe WDW sent all the Nasty stuff the the "Value" resorts since our rooms were cheaper and we did not matter as much as those that spent more.

you should have say something. sound like the machine had run out of something.

most of the time the soft drinks are fine at Pop.

don't drink coffee - but Disney uses the same brand no matter what.

now the coffee shops at the Polyn - I think had a different brand.

Then it is ALWAYS OUT when we go there. We may be just unlucky here. We drink the soda's but they have that "Flat" taste that you do not get within the Parks.

I have never had a problem with flat soft drinks at Disney. I don't drink coffee but I have read on the dis that many dislike the coffee.

I love my All Stars Diet Coke - I have never had a problem there -- and I do not believe for one minute that Disney or Coke would send inferior product to a resort.

I have about 20 refillable mugs at home and never had a problem with any of the drinks at any resort -- and I drink a lot of pop.

BUT, I always have a problem getting free beer refills -- no one will give me any!

Seriously, folks...

...it sounds like something didn't get mixed in the fountain correctly (rather than the product being flat).

Normally, the supplier (in this case, Coca-Cola) provides the syrup and post-mix, while the food service facility (in this case, a Disney CM) is responsible for the mixing/hookups...

If it had only happened ONCE then I could say it was a mix problem... But we have been 4 years in a row, and the drinks AT "POP" have tasted the Same...
FLAT.

We must be just very unlucky if it is a MIX problem... Each Day, Each Time.
Maybe this year it will be different, or we can upgrade.

The coffee at the resorts in the grab and go areas as far as I know is universally terrible. The Kona cafe and the coffee bar at the Polynesian do offer the option of real Kona coffee which is expensive but wonderful. They also offer Kona blend which is ok.
I finally gave up and bring my own coffee, filters and cone and an electric kettle and make fabulous coffee in my room.
I don't drink soda so can't speak to that issue.

Do you use the same machine. I know that they have at least 4 machines that dispense at least 5 different drinks I am sure that there are more than 5. If I taste my soda and it is flat, I empty it and go to another machine. I am talking about like at McDonalds and such. However, I have never had a problem at any of the resorts. Well the coffee, that is a whole different story. They use a liquid concentrate. Good luck with your future trips.

Whe we stayed there on our last trip, DD and I drank a LOT of Diet Coke. We would not have kept going back if it had been flat.
But a previous poster is correct. It would not have been a problem with the product. Flat soda either means that it is not being kept cold enough inside the fountain dispenser or that the CO2 is low.

I have had flat diet Coke a couple of times at the All-Stars, but when that has happened I have gone to another machine and it was fine. And I've then gone back to the original spot later in the week and it was fine, so just an issue on that day and time.

It is my understanding that WDW has a contract with Nestle, and because of this contract they use their brand of coffee-Nescafe-. I tried it on the first day we were there (1900 Park Fare) and thought that there was something wrong, but remembered reading that they used the Nescafe stuff and that a lot of people had complained about it in reviews that I read posted. It is pretty bad, but there are some places that people can get real coffee at "The World", you just have to know where to look. I think I found it posted where the snack site is for the alternate snacks. This is why they serve Dyers ice cream, etc. etc.. But I do believe that some of the resturants that are privately contracting with Disney choose to use Nescafe or their own, it just depends on the place. Wish I could be more help. If I find the post about real coffee in the world then I will come back and post it. :surfweb:
