1- I heard that the water that comes into the cabins is filtered and there for okay to drink. Is this true?

2- We are planning on getting refillable sports bottles for everyone in our reunion. Is there a sink near the drink station where we can rinse out the bottles if we put say soda in it one time and then want water the next time? Or do they have on at the quick serve locations that they'd be willing to rinse out the cup for us?

TIA

Water is filtered on the ship and is safe to drink in fact better than land water. They use desalination to convert sea water to drinking water, it is very safe,

There is no where to rise refillable water bottles just use the cups provided to fill up your bottles DCL asks you to do this for hygiene and courtesy to fellow cruisers.

Basically with cups provided and free soda there is no need to carry your own around and go to the effort of washing bottles out, Cabanas the buffet has cups and holders for coffee and tea and soda, but there isn't a place to wash your own out.

For the washing of cups, I bring a paper towel with dish detergent on it and wash in the stateroom.

Great!! Thank you so much for the responses. Love the idea of the paper towels with detergent on it. I hadn't thought of that. It would allow us to rinse them out really easily each day!

I'll also make sure that all of the kids know they need to use the cups to fill up their water bottles. We'll mostly use them when we are not on the ship or they just want some soda while in the room for a while, etc. We are lazy and not having to go back to the drink station a whole lot would be nice. Plus....for me....it's a must as I drink a LOT of water (around a gallon or more a day!!)

A picture is definitely worth a thousand words. I've only been on one DCL cruise before and it's been 5 1/2 years so I just couldn't remember....that picture brings it all back!!!

You all are awesome for the quick responses!!

Agreed! I do carry a coffee mug with me on the ships (actually one from DCL) because I think it keeps my coffee hot longer than the cups at the drink stations. But I agree you don't really need your own cup/bottle. If it's for water the tap water in the room is the same as at the drink stations. It's good, pure, and the price is right.

We take our own water bottles and cups. It's nice to be able to have a larger amount in a spill-free container. It's especially nice to have a coffee travel mug that won't spill to take to various activities in the morning. The water bottles are also good for excursions.

FWIW... I think Bounty now does a whole roll of paper towels that are 'pre-loaded' with Dawn... so to speak. Just put some of those in a ziploc and easy peasy clean up of those insulated mugs we all carry around.

Is there milk there too? I have a toddler who needs a glass of milk most night before bed... Already planning to bring a water bottle and one of her milk staw cups with us...

Yes, to the right of the coffee machine is a milk dispenser:

Paper cups on board are really small. We always bring our own larger covered mugs (usually 20 oz). We rinse them out in the room each night, but next cruise I am taking those bounty/dawn paper towels.
