do they sell drink mugs on board that refill for free like at the resorts / my friend got one from triple a this jan or can you only get it from triplr a thanks

Yes, they sell them onbard. They are $35 for a 7-day cruise. Roughly they come to $5 a day. Make sure you buy right away, because the price doesn't go down. You pay $35 whether you buy on Day 1 or Day 6. I think on our Wonder cruise, we paid $15 for a 3 day cruise. It gets you free refills of Pop/Soda.

Just a note, DCL has gone to a SODA STICKER program. You do NOT get the mug with that anymore, but you can purchase it for $5 extra. The sticker on your KTTW card is what gets you the soda, not the mug. :)

could you explain that more, what do I pay$5 for, the mug or the sticker, what is a kttw card and what will it cost for each person per day for unlimited soda?

I believe the way it now works is that you pay $5/day for the sticker, which gets you unlimited sodas for the cruise. If you also want the souvenier mug, that costs an additional $5 on top of the per-day soda charge. In the past, the per-day soda charge got you the mug, too.

The KTTW card is short for "Key to the World" card, which serves as your boarding pass, room key, and on-board charge card. You affix the sticker to it so that the bartenders know that you have paid the unlimited soda charge. The soda charge is per person, I believe, so it would cost $5/person, per day for unlimited soda.

Note that soda is free in the dining rooms with meals, at least it used to be.

That is a great idea. We just sailed in January and I did not like having to carry the mugs around where ever we went. I also felt it was wasteful that they would put your pop into a plastic cup (sanitary reasons), and you would have a plastic cup to throw away after you put it into your mug. Kudos! More environmentally friendly.

For a 7 day cruise, the soda program costs $35. They put a sticker (small little star) on your KTTW card. Also, if you want the mug, it costs $3 extra. If you have the mug, you can also present just the mug for refills. So, you have the option. On our Feb. 22 cruise we purchase the mugs too, but rarely used them (bought them more as souvenirs).
Two stickers and two mugs cost us $76 - and for us we didn't get our money's worth... I guess it depends on how much soda you drink!

I seem to recall that the sodas were $1.50 or $1.75 at the bars. I really don't drink that much soda. I usually go with water or Gatorade during the day (bring my own mix). I remember thinking you'd have to drink 3-4 sodas per day to make the soda program worth while. Taking into account that the sodas are free in the dining rooms, I didn't think it was worth it for me.

Remember, if you buy a soda at one of the bars, they'll add the 15% auto-gratuity. I guess they don't do that if you have a mug or a sticker.

If you book with AAA you do get the mug for free. My AAA TA said we will get a sticker and a mug.

I am so glad to hear that DCL has gone back to the sticker. Although DH & I don't drink much soda DS definitely does! He will be getting the sticker for sure. I knew that he'd never keep track of a mug.

Thanks!

Deb
