Dressing up your husband for Pirate Night?

I ordered DH a pirate t shirt and he'll wear that each time we cruise. Our first cruise, I had a full pirate costume and was disappointed by how few people dressed up. Now I just wear a black and white striped dress and the bandana.

Hello, friends! We are planning our very first Disney cruise on the Wonder this December, and I'm wondering what to get my hubby for Pirate Night. I have a pirate costume, my 5-year-old daughter will have one, but Daddy is not the kind of guy to dress up in a costume. Should I just get him a pirate t-shirt and call it good? He's not likely to swashbuckle himself up in a flowy white shirt or scarf on the head. He is very good natured about this stuff, so he'd probably humor us a little bit. What do the Dads/grown up guys usually wear to Pirate Night? Thoughts? Thanks!

DS went a different way. I found him a t-shirt with Seinfeld telling Kramer, "But I don't WANT to be a pirate!"

This will be our first cruise, and while me and my 2 girls are dressing up, the hubs is wearing a bandana and a pirate patch and jeans or shorts with a Goonies t shirt I made him. We love the Goonies movie so the their pirate skull logo was perfect!

My husband wears jeans with a Pirates of the Caribbean or "Dead Men Tell No Tales" t-shirt. If we happen to have an eye patch he'll wear that some times, and he'll wear the bandana that DCL gives us. I usually just wear my pink jeweled t-shirt from the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop at Disney World.


In 2004 Pirate Night was fairly new (at least to us!) so I wore a tropical print dress and my husband wore a black shirt and the pirate bandana from DCL:

Here I am on Pirate night in 2012. The words "Pirates of the Caribbean - Walt Disney World 1971" are in rhinestones on the left sleeve, just like the skull on the front:

I think for next year's cruise we'll end up buying some new shirts
