Hello, friends! We are planning our very first Disney cruise on the Wonder this December, and I'm wondering what to get my hubby for Pirate Night. I have a pirate costume, my 5-year-old daughter will have one, but Daddy is not the kind of guy to dress up in a costume. Should I just get him a pirate t-shirt and call it good? He's not likely to swashbuckle himself up in a flowy white shirt or scarf on the head. He is very good natured about this stuff, so he'd probably humor us a little bit. What do the Dads/grown up guys usually wear to Pirate Night? Thoughts? Thanks!

You might consider an inexpensive Halloween costume. DW wears one.

Usually I wear a pirate themed aloha shirt with some "matching" beads that I found. I've seen quite a few pirate themed t-shirts as well. That and a pirate themed bandana from your local dollar or fabric store may suit him better.

I've only dressed up once. It was fun, but I actually prefer my pirate themed shirt. Though one day I may do Captain Barbossa!

My husband wore black cargo shorts, a white t-shirt, red woven belt, and the bandana that you get for pirate night. He liked it because he was still dressing up without feeling uncomfortable.

My dh wore a pirate costume along with the majority of other men. One year we had pirate t-shirts made.

My DH likes to wear a pirate costume but my Dad doesn't like dressing up so I bought him a pirates of the Caribbean TShirt to wear.

At Target in the Dollar Section they sell a "pirate pack" that came with eye patch, gold hoop earring, and fake mustache. My hand just used that along with the bandana that DCL provides in the room.

For your husband I would have to say a pirate themed tshirt might be best.

My DH sounds exactly like yours! He wore a white t-shirt and jeans w/ the bandanna they give you on the cruise PLUS a (cheap) striped vest that I found at the thrift store onto which I'd added a skull&crossbones iron-on decal.

My DH wore a pirate tshirt, the bandana Disney gave us and at the last moment asked me to put black eyeliner on him! This is a guy who does not dress up, so we were thrilled! He looked great and gave Captain Jack a run for his money.

My husband is an Oakland Raiders fan and he wore his raiders shirt with the logo along side with an eye patch and a scarf on his head. He received so many compliments regarding his shirt that it was a perfect pick!

My husband loved his pirate night costume my mother made for him. He was blackbeard and I was Angelica.

I will just say I don't ever notice the majority of other men in costume. MAYBE a pirate tshirt but in my 7 DCL cruises this hasn't been our experience. If I packed my DH a costume he would not wear it most likely. If he did and saw that most men aren't (again just our experience) I would never get him to even wear the tshirt. Dressing up like that is just outside some people's comfort zone. If that is the case, my DH doesn't mind wearing a pirate tshirt and will even wear the pirate scarf they provide to dinner....but that is all he is comfortable with. Just my two cents.

If your cruise is after Halloween, and you have one (or many) of the pop-up Halloween stores in your city or town, November 1 is a great day to stock up on 1/2 price pirate costumes. I wasn't a big fan of the 'pantaloons' so wore khaki cargo shorts, but I wore my Jack Sparrow shirt, vest, hat, dreadlocks, etc. that came in the package.

DH often dresses up for Halloween - he's a very scary Dracula, and I wear my Maleficent Costume, but for Pirate Night we wear Mickey Pirate shirts purchased onboard the ship. The bandanas we get on the ship are kid-sized; I don't know how an adult can get them around their head.

My husband does the same as grantasl's; black shorts, white tshirt and I bought cheap red/white striped scarve that he tied around his waist. Wore the bandana they gave him. Simple and comfortable, but still a little bit pirate.
