Dressing up for dinners?

I hadnt thought about this until today. Do you dress up for any of the restaurants in Disney? I mean I am guessing most people are going to be in shorts and t-shirts with sandals, but when you think about it some of the restaurants seem nice and I would normally always wear something dressy-ish to a sit down.

We have reservations for:

Wolfgang Pucks
Mama Melroses
Tonys Town Square
Rainforest Cafe
Illuminations dinner at the Odysey

Any suggestions?

The only one of those that I've been to is Rainforest Cafe, and it's definitely a laid-back kind of place. Typical shorts and t-shirts are fine.

I've never really dolled up for dinner at Disney, but occasionally I've worn a peasant skirt or a dressier pair of capris and a cute top or something. Dressy but still casual and not out of place among the sea of t-shirts and shorts.

I have not been to those restuarants, but we do go to
Cinderella's Royal Table
Coral Reef
Teppenyakki
Liberty Tree
Chef Mickey's
Ohana's
and a few more and we wore shirt, shorts , sandals. The girls sometimes wore sundresses, but we were the norm. Have fun!

The restaurants where you'd see people a little more dressed up are those that have a "business casual" (no tank tops or short-shorts, etc) dress code. I don't think any of your ADRs are on that list. When we go in April we're eating dinner on Easter at Yachtsman Steakhouse and that is "business casual" so DDs and I will bring skirts or capri pants and DH and DS will wear polo shirts and pants (DH) or bermuda shorts (DS). The rest of our ADRs are at restaurants in the parks so we may be wearing shorts and flipflops. But since we usually go back to our resort in the afternoon to swim, everyone puts on clean clothes for the evening. If it's real warm the kids will wear shorts but I'm with you (I think) that I don't really feel comfortable walking into a sit-down restaurant for dinner in shorts so I usually wear capri pants in the evening anyway.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has thought about it. I figured most places would be filled with tourists in tourist attire I just didnt want to be the only one!

We also went back to the hotel before our ADR's and exchanged our sweaty park clothes for fresh ones! We usually put on nicer shorts, etc. than what we wore in the parks during the day.

We always freshen up and change before going to dinner when we are at Disney. I agree with not being comfortable wearing shorts to the restaurants, but we hardly "dress up". Normally we go to the places that are business casual, but still it has not been unusual at all for us to see folks dining in their park attire. My husband usually will wear a polo shirt and dockers and I will wear jeans (nice ones, not torn or worn ones) with a nice shirt or sweater. We are not too worried about the kids, but they are always in fresh, clean clothes for dinner. The only time we really make the extra effort dressing for dinner is when we go to Victoria and Alberts.

To the OP, none of your restaurants have any kind of "dress code", to the best of my knowledge. I know that some do...I think mostly the "signature dining" places (Artist Point, Citricos, Flying Fish Cafe, etc.).

Just look up the restaurants on www.disneyworld.com and it will tell you in the description of the restaurant whether or not there is a dress code of any kind.
