I know that the dressing up clothes in the shops are more expensive than those in the UK. Is it much more expensive?

Anyone got a rough cost of a nice princess outfit with shoes? Are they much different in quality to what you would find in a Disney shop here in the UK? I don't mind paying more if they are a but special but not if they are the same as here just more expensive!

I could go and buy a nice outfit in the UK but they don't have a Disney shop in the town we live in and I thought choosing one in DLRP would be exciting for DD. Just don't want to feel ripped off!

I think they are much nicer than Woolies, Asda etc but they are very expensive and definitely out of my budget. I'm a big eBay fan and have bought authentic DLRP from there. French ebay also has loads of dresses. I would rather have excellent quality second hand than cheaper but new. I know that some people wouldn't like this though.

Ooh good idea I didn't think of that - I've left it too late for anything to be posted to me now. I just wanted an idea whether to steer her clear of the dresses or not! If it is approaching 50 Euros for a full outfit then its probably out of the question I think - I'll steer her to the accessories!:rotfl:

its very hard to avoid the dresses to be honest as they are everywhere

we bought before we went

the ones we saw were about 45 euros and I dont think they were any better quality

My kids have a few Disney Store dresses and they are all really nice. I would go with your original plan - buy the dress here and buy the accessories there!

Another Ebay fan here too for Disney costumes :thumbsup2

I have managed to pick up a few Disney Princess outfits in TK Max recently and they are excellent. They have the Disney label on them and appear to be the same as the Disney store ones. I got them last month for £7.00 each. :woohoo:

We looked last weekend and they were ranging from 45 - 65 euros just for the dress and tbh, looked just the same quality as the Disney Store ones.

:scared1: I suppose the exchange rate is doing us no favours but wow that is expensive! I'm normally like treating my DD but there's no way I could justify that amount for dressing uo clothes.

we were looking at the dresses on wed. the prestige Belle dress was gorgeous, but was 75euros!

I suppose bridemaids dresses are quite expensive and if the quality is similar then the price might not be so way off. Just not what I would want to pay.

The problem we have is our DD is very good at getting what she wants... no not by having tantrums or tears or sulking or whinging... We tell her "No, its too much money' or that she can't have it today and says "OK maybe another day" and she put's it back like an angel... how can you deny... :rotfl: maybe she knows and has worked it out already, she only 4! :rotfl:

The dresses range from 40 euros to 70 euros.

I would get one from the disneystore.co.uk (alot cheaper and even nicer than the DLP ones)

I agree, we have bought ours from the disneystore here and they are great quality and size wise they are a better fit.

I'd like to treat dd to a little princess dress in DLP one day but I'm waiting til she's older and she'll appreciate the experience more.

i bought ds a buzz lightyear costume from the disney store for £25 when we were going to DLP last year which included a sponge gun, mask and balaclava (?sp) - they were *much* more expensive over there and you only got the top and trousers - all the other bots were extra and the one we got was much more padded - so i would def recommend buying the costumes here x

The only dress i would get kyra from DLP would probably be the Giselle dress its truly enchanting.

Hi

I'd reiterate what the others have said. When we were there in summer, we hadn't gone with any Disney costumes and when it was our DD's 3rd birthday I felt I had to. I originally bought a Little Mermaid white wedding one from the shop in Fantasyland which was around the 55E mark but at her usual size of 2-3 it was minute!!!!! I took it back the morning of our last day and the only alternative in the next size up 3-4 was the Snow White one which was up at around 65E. There were also 'reversible' ones which were up in the 75E mark along with the newer ones like the Giselle one...

Being honest, had I not been 'stuck' over there and felt I wanted to get her one for her birthday tea at Cafe Mickey, there's NO way I'd have paid that kind of money. As others have said Asda (and up til recently Woolworths) did some lovely ones for around the £15 mark and if you wanted to splash out a bit more for something more special the Deluxe Disney Store versions are about £35. I'd rather get two for the price of one over here than spend it over there... So yeah, my advice, trip to Disney and get more 'bang for your buck'. DLRP for costumes is unreal!

Hope that helps (although prob not - just said the same as everyone else :rotfl: ). Either way, enjoy your shopping trip to the Disney Store... my fav place in this country (but not my bank managers!:lmao: )

There is a lady on ebay who sells the WDW princess dresses cheaper than the disneystore dresses and they are adorable and beautiful.

Kyra's snow white dress with postage and accesories with shipping from the USA-£25...

I did order her the Ariel ball gown aswell but it seems to of gone missing in the post :(

I notice the disney store has Cinderella deluxe outfit half price at £17.50 - bargain! Just in case anyone else is looking.

Thanks for all your input everyone - I think I'll try and avoid the DLRP dresses!
