We have the late dinner seating, and I'm curious how people dress for the shows at the Walt Disney Theater. Do they tend to mirror the dress code for dinner, or do people wear their day clothes to the show?

I don't suppose it matters too much most nights, but I wouldn't want to be over or underdressed, especially on the formal and semi-formal nights?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

The best advice is don't worry about it! The theater is like a large movie theater, you go in and the lights go down, and no one is worried in the least about what you are wearing. If you do notice, you'll find most are dressed casually. We saw very few shorts, but probably because it is at night in a cool room. Some may keep on their fancy clothes, but really who cares :)

You can't be overdressed, but I'd wear very casual and comfortable clothes.

I've seen both. Just depends on what you have been doing that day I guess. Either way is fine as long as you relax and enjoy your cruise. You always have a little bit of time after the show to quickly get dressed for dinner.

We usually go in what ever clothing we have on from the day..
and head back to the room to change for dinner after the show ..

Second seating..... Peter

Just like the others have said, there is no dress code in the theatre. It's whatever works out best for you. We have always enjoyed late seating and we typically dress before the show, even on formal nights. It's kind of fun to go to the theatre in fancy clothes. Either way, no one feels out of place.

We have found it easier to be dressed for dinner for the show, there are five of us and it gets a little hectic. We also try to catch the family cabaret show in Rockin Bar D right after the main show. It usually starts about 15 mins after the end of the first show and is done a few mintues before we are due to sit down for dinner. We've enjoyed these shows a lot.

One of the awesome things about a cruise is there are not so many hard and fast rules, other than relaxing and having a good time. See what works out best for you. We found it most relaxig to be dress, see two shows and then go to dinner. And since everything is right there, you can pop back to the stateroom anytime and still get to where you need to be no problem.

My only recommendation is don't miss the shows, they are incredible.

Thanks for the advice! I just didn't want to be the only goober sitting around in a prom dress while everyone else relaxed in shorts. Conversely, I didn't want to be the only one showing up in a casual dress while everyone else is dressed to the nines!

LOL:tongue: You certainly won't be a goober! Everybody on the ship is doing so many different things, it's kind of amazing that you can be dressed to the nines and be sitting next to someone in shorts in the theatre and it looks and feels okay! It's one of the things we love about cruising, so much less stressful than real life!:smooth:

I think it is split pretty evenly. We like to dress before the show and then do one of the game shows type shows until dinner time.

You will see people in all matter of dress at the shows.
