I have a 9 year old DD who is still into the dresses and princess stuff. She wants a dress for her princess meals but, I need a 14-16 since the 10-12 is too small (tight). I have searched EBAY and the internet. Does anyone know where I can get a larger dress without sewing myself for her for Aug.? I want it to be a special day after all I have read about the dresses and such. We wouldn't splurge last trip and I wish we would have. Now, I am really sad she will miss it all again because of sizes. Thanks. princess:

Did you actually get to try a dress on? I find that the Disney princess dresses run quite large. DD7, who is almost exclusively in 7/8 clothing, can still wear her size 6/6x dresses. They're too short (so are the 7/8s at this point--she's tall), but for princess dresses too short is better than too long.

I find a lot of Disney stuff runs very large. Those $5 character tees they had at the Disney store recently, I got DD a childrens xsmall (4-5), and got children's medium (7/8) for my mom and me. Everyone in our party was down at least one size. So, maybe you'll be ok with a 10/12.

Otherwise, you could ask at your local Disney store when they will get their Halloween stuff in. Maybe it will be in time for your trip. I know around Halloween, the Disney catalog sells some costumes in adult sizes too.

Best of luck to you. I hope your DD gets the princess dress of her dreams! :sunny:

Hi,
Try doing a web search for halloween costumes. I'm sure there must be a store that sells larger sizes. Good luck. :flower:

Thank you for your help!!! I am going to keep searching. Any more ideas, please send them......Thanks!!!!!

What about a nightgown? I know it sounds odd, but I have seen some that look beautiful, almost like a more comfy version of the dress up dresses. DD has an Ariel one with puffy sleeves and a sheer overskirt, very flowy and princessy... she's had it for almost 2 years now, and it still fits! The disney things do run big, and because they are so flow-y and long you can wear them well past the time they grow out of the stated size.

I also saw some beautiful cinderella, sleeping beauty, and belle ones with the sheer overskirts and pretty tops showing the princess as a ballerina. I saw them today in BJ's wholesale club, they were $12, I think. Not sure what sizes they had though maybe they are a bit too small, but worth a look.

Just another avenue to check out -- hope it helps? See you there in August!

What size does your daughter usually wear in regular clothes? I had gotten the size 7-10 Prestige costume for my 9 year old daughter and it actually is still a little big. She also has a costume my mom bought at Cracker Barrel during the Halloween clearence that is a 10-12 that has kindof a stretchy material, and that one is actually still too big for her. We're going to save that one for when she gets bigger so she can still have a princess dress. I haven't seen a childs costume much larger, so I guess we'll have to go the adult costume and hem it when she outgrows these. I've also seen some flowergirl dresses on e-bay that could pass for a cinderella dress.

I saw this one on a website for a store called Costumes 4 Less.

www.puppetworkshop.com has a great selection of costumes. You can't order online though. You have to order a catalogue first and then you can call your order in and they have it out within a week. Price is reasonable too. Good luck! :flower:
