Dresses and costumes

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering.....
I normally don´t were shorts that much since I prefer dresses. But how is that going to be in the parks? Can I do the rides in a dress without having to pull it up too much. I don´t want to end up being talked about on the disboard as the indecent mom with three kids...

Question nr. 2: Does anyone know if I can buy a Donald Duck costume for DS (9) somewhere in Florida. I think that the Disney shop has stopped selling them so I was wondering if anyone had seen them at Walmart or Target, and expensive they were?

I would suggest either shorts or a pair of pants because some rides are harder to get into than others.

Have you tried looking on the Target website or maybe another dept. store website? Hopefully somebody will be able to help you with this one. Have a wonderful trip!!

Well, DD's solution is to wear a pair of shorts under her dress - generally bike shorts so that they don't add any extra bulk. She prefers casual dresses over shorts any day of the week. How do you feel about skorts or capri pants? Just another idea . . .

a mid-length jumper-style dress or sundress is very common attire, and as long as it's not so tight that you can't walk normally up or down stairs, it shouldn't be a problem at all as far as attractions are concerned (most are based on the "step-in and sit-down" concept, and I can't think of any off the top of my head that require the guests stand on their heads.)
dress comfortably and you should be fine.

dresses can be tricky in the parks(I wore a can can dress as satine for MNSSHP the year Moulin Rouge came out).But it can be done

casual sundresses (or other dresses) are not that hard to manage. Providing it isn't mini-dress-- then she should be fine. Let her be comfortable with her clothes. I own a lot of cute casual dresses and love to pair them w/ sneakers. Even at Disney.

Now Safari Steve, you're obviously more graceful in a dress than the rest of us! Most rides are just fine, but for a few where your knees are more or less hooked around your ears (the Raceway cars which are low and Astro Orbiter where your legs are actually spread around a child come to mind) it will be hard to enter, sit, and exit with any degree of modesty unless there's a fair bit of volume to the dress. A loose sundress would be fine, but a denim mini skirt will be a challenge. You also need to keep the "transparent when wet" principle in mind if you're thinking of riding Kali River Rapids or possibly Splash.

How about we make a list of attractions that might be a bit difficult in a dress or skirt?

I can't think of any others... it's been ages since I wore a dress to the parks...
