Is there somewhere on property to get our dresses steamed the day before the wedding? My sisters ceremony is off site so we don't have a EM.

I had Carolyn Allens steam my dress on the day of the wedding..........she was fabulous. Actually I shipped my dress and skirt to her so I wouldn't have to worry about it on the plane and wouldn't have to buy it a plane ticket to sit next to me, I shipped it to her and they called me the instant it got there to let me know it had arrived and was in excellent condition :) She is so sweet and funny to and she not only can do your dress but she also does anyone elses dress. Here is her website that has all of her prices on it :) She comes to your hotel room so you don't have to leave, I'm pretty sure that Disney does not have a dress steamer on property that you can hire. I highly recommend her though :) You don't have to have a Disney Wedding as she covers all of Orlando area. HTH

I'd also recommend Carolyn Allen's - she sent a girl to the Grand Floridian where I got ready before our wedding and she did a great job on my wedding dress. Our bridesmaids opted for the less expensive route (hotel iron and/or steaming their dresses in the shower) the morning of the wedding.

Thank you for your replies. I have checked her sight and sent her an email....they've already gotten back to me. I think we will go with them.

We're using Carolyn Allens too and we're getting them to steam my dress and my BM's dresses as well. As we have an 11 o/c wedding she'll be with us at 7.00am :earseek: This was at their suggestion.

We're also ordering our tuxes through them as well.

For those of you who are looking to cut costs I just bought a steamer and packed it with me in my suit case. It wasn't the travel steamer though, I heard those don't work to well. It was a lot bigger than the travel one but, it didn't take much room at all and it was only $40. We saved tons of money since everyones clothes needed to be steamed. My mom, sister, and I steamed everyones outfits the night before. It worked very well on my wedding dress. This is just a thought for those of you who don't want to spend a fortune on steaming. Now we have the steamer for lots of other vacations as well.

I bought one similar to the one mmschwaba describes to use for my daughter's wedding next month. I was going to pay 39.99 for one at Sears but went over to Wal-Mart and got one on clearance for $8.00. Needless to say, I was happy with the purchase.

i also bought the steamer at Filene's and brought it with me but at the last minute decided to call carolyn allens and she came out the day of the wedding and steamed me dress. it was inexpensive, less worry of having my self steam it and ruin my dress and i didnt have to worry about anything she came while we were are getting our hair done in the grand floridian room that we had to get ready. at the end i brought the steamer back and got my money back. i highly recommend having somebody steam it for you . less hassle you will have other things on your mind reather than steaming your dress and worriny it if comes out ok

I have to agree with Jen. I had Carolyn Allen's come out and steam my gown and I had them steam the 3 BM gowns as well (she also steamed my crinoline and my veil), my whole bill was $117, and I didn't have to worry about a thing! She steamed the gowns while I was getting my hair and make-up done and it took her an hour to steam my dress alone, as it has like 7 layers of tulle and each layer needed seperate steaming.

I also shipped my dress to Carolyn Allen's, and we got a tux there. They were great. In all my excitement I left a package at their store. They called the hotel before we even checked in and told us not to worry. They delivered it to the resort instead of making us go back to their store. It was really nice.

I also had them pick up and preserve my dress. I know it was a little more than doing it locally, but I didn't have to worry about my dress during our HM and getting it home safely. Its was definitely worth the extra money. It was preserved very well and they shipped to our house about 6 weeks later.
