ok, so i'm stressing out a little about getting my dress on the plane. i called and talked to someone at usair and they weren't really very helpful, so i wrote an email and just got this as a response...

"Thank you for visiting usairways.com.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate the hanging of your
wedding dress.

It is best to take the garment bag that the dress came with, put it
inside of a standard luggage garment bag, fold the garment bag in half
and place it in the overhead bin. This causes the least amount of
wrinkling especially through the bodice and the bottom where steaming is
usually most needed. Any minor wrinkles that folding may cause will
usually "press themselves out" if you hang it up as soon as you reach
your destination. The maximum size of a garment bag that will fit in the
overhead bin is 54 inches. I would suggest transporting your dress this
way."

The dress that I have purchased is quite full on the bottom and there is no way that it is going to fold in half and fit in a garment bag. I don't know how comfortable I feel shipping it down there. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated!!!

even though I haven't bought my dress yet, I'm wondering about this same thing too. Originally I thought shipping it to florida would be the best idea, but then I would hate to think if there were complications and it got lost somehow.
