The end of november is really hot down here in South America, as summer approaches. I have visited WDW twice in dec. and have found all kinds of weather, specially freezing shivering weather (brrrrrrrr). What should I expect from nov. weather??? Is it warm enough for shorts? Should I bring my mom's overcoat?? What should I bring for our evenings programs??
BTW, am I wrong to assume that our "park commando uniform" will be adequate enough for all the evening events??
Should I pack a bathing suit???

Livia, it's a little hard to pack for a Nov/Dec trip. I'm bringing shorts, tank tops, short sleeve shirts, jeans, sweatshirts, turtlenecks, mittens and a hat. On our trip at the same time last year, we wore it all. We had hot days and very cold days. We froze the night of MVMCP. I will bring my swimsuit, too. I'm going to try to watch the weather as the time gets closer. I always check the weather channel online. That gives you a 10 day forecast and that will help. If I see it will be cooler, I may not bring as many shorts and tank tops. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

Last year when I was down in November/December, Orlando had an "uncommon" cold period. Being from Colorado, 42 degrees didn't seem too cold to me, that's like springtime here. But I practically froze in Florida. I had to buy sweatshirts, mittens, etc. to make it through the nights. I think you should pack for warm and cold weather, if possible. You just never know....

I may bring along one "nice" set of clothes for the opening reception, but after that, it's shorts, t-shirts and baseball caps.

November weather is kind of hard to predict in Florida. It could be cold one day and hot the next! Watch the weather reports a few days before you leave for expected temperatures. Shorts and t-shirts are the rule of thumb in Florida, but if it gets chilly, you want to get those long pants on!

Barry: Good!!!! I see that you are planning to pack some pants then.

I was certain that you didn't mind some fresh air...:D :D :D

LOL Livia....you commented before I could. :D I, too, was glad to see that Barry plans on packing some 'pants' :D

I just want to jump in here and say that when we went at this very time 2 two years ago, it ranged from sunny and warm (shorts and t-shirts) to very, very COLD (long pants, coats, mittens and hats  ). I think it's because of the humidity that 50-60 degrees seemed like 'freezing' weather down there! ::shrugging shoulders::

So, I guess you'll need to pack A LOT! ;)

Dont' forget your festive hat for The Fantasyland Meet.....Steve and Barb, the hats are still on, right? :p :) ;)

Tia: I have a chef's hat. Would you consider that festive enough?????

Barry, that is the one time that I would expect you to be pants-less! ;)

And yes Livia....I think a chef's hat would very cute....it would be 'very you' ;)

Barry, Barry, Barry! Aren't you sharing just a little bit too much information?!? LOL
Yes, Tia! The festive hats are still on.

Livia, we were at "The World" last year Dec. 2-8. The week we were there it was pretty cold. However, it was in the 80's all week the week before and the same for right after we left. We just caught a cold spell. We only wore shorts the last 2 days we were there. I'm planning to pack lots of things we can easily "layer" off as the day warms up and put back on for the evening. Thin layers that insulate well seem to work for me. As for the bathing suit, I'm definitely bringing mine and hoping I'll get a chance to use it.
My Santa Mickey hat will definitely be making the trip again this year. :D:

Hey folks, I think I got a list of things to pack:
shorts
t-shirts
heavy woolen sweaters
bathing suit
mittens
turtlenecks
sun screen

and a chef's hat...

Livia ... Sounds about like my list. :) :) :)

Barry -Glad to see that included pants

I am from the frozen North so even when it is chilly in florida, I think it is confortable. I do take a sweatshirt and long pants...just in case there is a cold spell, But it is ussually shorts and a T-shirt.

I plan on going to Blizzard Beach on Monday the 26th...so anyone getting there early, plan on it being the coldest day of the year that day :D Anyone is welcome to join me that day.

Hmmm.. Dan asked again last night if he needed to pack a suit. ARGH... I dont think he understands that this is a VACATION. I am only packing jeans and t-shirts.. well maybe a couple of pairs of shorts, jacket, pancho, mittens, bathing suit, ear muffs, panty hose *to wear underneath my pants in case I freeze my bum off*, etc.... I think we might need to upgrade the car rental to a U-Haul.

I am so glad that I am not the only one that thinks they need to bring lots of stuff just in case! You never know what the weather will be, so you have to bring extra, just in case! I am defaintely bringing the large suitcase this trip! Plus, I plan pn buying most of my mas gifts while I am there! Let's all hope for nice warm wather, it will be a nice break from the frozen north! It is usually bitter cold during the end of Thanksgiving in New England, so warm will definately be appreciated!

And will definately have my new Mickey Santa hat. (Just got the new Disney catlog today!) Think I'll order one for Mom too!

You know, Barry, I was wondering about that, but I'm just too much of a lady to ask! :earseek: :earseek:  :D
