I saw a thread on the "Trip Report Board" that pertained to the dress code on the ship. Although it sounded like many were not pleased with people dressing down. I hate to say it but I am one that is looking forward to being on vacation and relaxing and not worrying about having to "get ready" for dinner. For those that dress more on the casual side what is your style of clothes that you wear? Any ideas for a casual beach girl?

I say wear what you want. It says casual, no jeans or shorts. Other than the semiformal and formal nights, I plan to wear capris, sandels and a top (not dressy, but not a t-shirt). I am considering packing a casual dress for Luminaires and I have a tropical Mickey dress and DH has a matching shirt for the pirate night. Kids will wear capris or casual dresses. I think anything you wear is fine. Some like to get all dressed up and that's great, I'm just not going to do all that extra packing and fussing while I'm on vacation!

When the dress code is casual, casual is definitely the way to go. When the dress code is formal or semiformal, then I think it's polite to go a little nicer. I can't imagine anyone having a problem with someone dressing on casual nights in just about anything that's in good repair and not jeans or shorts.

In my ignorance about DCL, I don't even know if there is a formal night on the 4 night Wonder. Does anyone know? I almost hope not as I don't want to have to get myself dressed up and my DD as well. I live in shorts and flip flops! As they say, the girl can leave Florida but Florida doesn't leave the girl!!! :sunny:

The formal and semi-formal nights are only on the 7-day. Some folks on the Wonder like to treat their night at Triton's as a semi-formal night. I'd say most people were nicely dressed (business casual), a few were Really dressed up, and of course there were a few who were really underdressed. What you're planning sounds like you'll look fine and not be underdressed.

Enjoy your cruise. Relax and have fun!

I'm planning on a nice sun dress or sleeveless dress for the dinners and shorts the rest of the time. Maybe Capris one night, I'm not sure. This is on the Wonder in May. They say even for Tritons a sundress is appropriate.

Some people really like to dress, as for most we have seen on both ships.

Nice pants/top at dinner, or capris and top, maybe a sundress some nights.
For the men, nice pants/shirt (polo type or one of those caribbean style that hang over the pants, no tucking in needed).

On the wonder especially, no need to pack anything dressy unless you are eating at Palo for dinner, then hubby needs jacket and you will want a dress or nice pants suit.

While people say they "dress" for tritons or Lumieres..those people are in the minority.

:cloud9: What a sigh of relief! So it sounds like capris, sandals and a nice top will work for all restaurants except Palo's. We are newbie's to cruising but have done "all-inclusive resorts" many times and the resorts are very casual about dress shorts and flip flops are fine, only rule is no bathing suits in the sit down areas, only at burger stand type places.

Thanks to all that responded! Much appreciated!!
