It's never occured to me before, but I was just wondering, is there any type of "dress code" for Disneyland? What is and what isn't allowed to be worn while inside the Disneyland park? (i.e. costumes, etc)

I think as long as you aren't indecent and have a shirt, pants and shoes (or some variation) you can wear almost anything. I would suspect that they would frown on masks but otherwise I don't expect that they would care that you are in a costume.

Wow. I never thought about that. Being that "Disneyland" is in California, and the state of California is ULTRA liberal (in general), I imagine you could get away with a lot more out there than you could at "Walt Disney World" in Florida.

I'm just wondering what kind of costume you'd want to wear to a theme park.
A Disney character? Hmmm......Good question.
A Star Wars character?......maybe on Star Wars weekends, then again, maybe not.
One of the Village People?......I doubt it......then again, during Gay Days......?
A homicidal maniac.......Nope.

:sunny:

Remember that all Disney parks are FAMILY parks. All attire must be family friendly. At the very least, shirts and shoes are required at all times. Vulgar or sexually explicit language printed on clothing is not allowed. As for costumes (as in Halloween), as long as they are family apropriate for those of ALL ages, then it should be fine. Excersize common sense, and it's all good.

We go often to DL and CA and see all kinds of girls dressed as their favorite princesses! We've seen a few Peter Pans and Captain Hooks too! I think their policy is "no masks", but as far as costumes go, we've seen plenty (and not just at Halloween)! Very cute and fun......

Awesome, thanks for your help, you guys. The real reason I was asking is that I'd heard that you weren't allowed to go to Disneyland in costume, and my best friend and I were toying with the idea of going as the women pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read (perhaps you've seen their picture while waiting in line for the Pirates of the Carribean ride;) ), nothing indecent, because that would break the Disney spirit, and that's obviously a major no-no (plus not very fun). So, I just wanted to ask some other people who would know whether or not it's okay, thus I found this board. Once again, thank you so much.

Now that's getting in the spirit of things. Just be careful though, you might have to spend most of the day showing foreign visitors where the restrooms are (because they think you're castmembers).
