Dress code question

Ok, my boyfriend and I are not yet engaged, as he is still looking for a job (he is officially done with school in two days!! Yay for him graduating in 3 years!) and doesn't have money to do things "officially" yet, but we've been doing some minor planning for a while now. We have two current honeymoon options, Disney or a cruise. I was considering if we did Disney taking my dress and going into MK one night for dinner and to get some great pictures. I'm hearing that wedding apparel is against dress code though. Any CMs or others with experience know if this is true? I don't see how it could be, as they allow plenty of scantily clad teeny boppers, why would something like a wedding dress not be allowed? If my logic makes any sense....Oh well, if it is against the rules, I would consider pictures at some of the resorts anyway. ;) But castle pictures would be....awesome, especially with dinner at Cinderella's castle!

I don't know the answer to your question, just wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming marraige. I think WDW would be a wonderful place to honeymoon. :D

Unfortunetly it is true. :(

A CM posted about this awhile back in another thread. The reason they do this is to try and prevent non- Disney produced weddings in the theme parks since Disney has it's own wedding service.

Good luck and Congratulations!! :)

While you may not be able to wear your wedding garb (which would be hot and not very much fun on the rides anyway!)....DO pick up a pair of Mickey Mouse ears bride and groom hats! His is a top hat and her set of ears has a white veil attached. They're very cute!!

You can wear those all over the parks and have your pic taken in them...

WOO HOO! Have a wonderful time when you finally make it there!

Get Creative. Have your new husband wear black dress pants, a black shirt and a bow tie. You can wear a white lacy shirt with a white frilly skirt and white shoes. Pair these with the ears and "instant wedding garb"!

My friends were married a few weeks ago, not at WDW but nearby. After the wedding and the church hall reception, they changed from gown and tux into a short, white embroidered dress for her and black trousers and a nice polo shirt in their wedding color for him. They paired these outfits with Bride & Groom Ears for a stop at the parks before spending the night before the honeymoon at the Swalphin. It made for some really nice pictures without the baggage of the full formal wedding attire.

PammyK and PrincessAurora, those were the kinds of things I was thinking of...the dresses I'm looking at would be horrid to have to bring with us on the 12 hour or so car trip (I really don't think I can convince him to fly, we both hate it, but him especially, and we've driven every time I've been before anyway), and I wouldn't want to worry about ruining it. I don't do well with wearing white, I tend to ruin it quickly, but I'm thinking maybe just a really nice dress, and him dressed sort of how you described...The only problem is, our wedding color will probably be red, and that just doesn't seem quite right for our pictures, hehe. It'll be ok. I would still love to do a character meal with princesses though...even though I hate character meals, I want to be with princesses for my honeymoon. :bounce:
