Not sure how to phrase this....my style of dress is boho and so I have a boho style tank top that has a lacey top and straps....when wearing a matching-colored bra, the bra somewhat, tastefully, shows through (and only a small portion of it).....nothing revealing at all (as I feel this would be completely inappropriate). Would Disney frown upon this? I'm talking when visiting mostly regular parks...not water parks.

I think the fact that you have to ask this question should tell you that it probably isn't the best choice.

Hard to say...I'd have to see it for myself but it sounds like it's ok. I have seen worse. Women with no bra at all, in white shirt and it's pouring down rain. I was taking pictures of Main Street during a Tropical Storm Faye rainstorm while I was at MK in 2008 and I caught a pic of it. Not even appropriate to post. :rolleyes1

I dress for comfort in the parks and what the weather dictates. I see no problem with a glimpse of a bra strap under a tank with lace accents. (So long as the tank itself isn't only lace.)

However, this may not be the best attire in say November through February. But I think you should be fine during the hotter months.

I remember about 4 trips ago a young man was wearing a t-shirt with a visual of 21 various "positions" on the back. :eek: Now, that I thought inappropriate!!

Enjoy your vacation!!

I think it is hard to answer this without actually seeing a picture of the dress in question. Not sure how the straps are but would it be possible to wear a spaghetti strap top underneath? Again, may not be possible with the style of dress so I am not sure.

If it's just the straps, I don't think that would really be an issue. If you can actually see the top or outline of the bra, I think most people would consider that too risque. It's a little hard to picture what you're describing, though.

I have seen way worse! Wear what is comfy and keeps you cool!

Compared to some things I've seen, it sounds OK. One time we were in the World Showcase and a woman was walking in front of us with a top that scooped almost all the way down to her waist in the back, with the back of her black bra exposed.

Sounds fine. Compared to how much cleavage I've seen in some photos I can't see there being a problem. My SIL has a similar dress style and i can't remember anywhere it's been out of place (though we live in a more liberal country it seems than the USA)

There are people that literally let it all hang out and you sound downright tasteful by comparison. Just cover the naughty bits as a PP said.

It's hard to say but if you think it isn't appropriate then maybe you should reconsider. From the description it sounds fine.

could you wear a tank top under it? I have some tops that would show my stomach or bra, but I wear a matching colored (or usually black or white) spaghetti strap tank top under the shirt. I guess it depends on the straps on the shirt, etc. It's not like you're walking around the park in a bikini top!

This forum is truly the best....I sincerely appreciate all of your honest and helpful comments. The problem with wearing another tank under the lace tank is that we are going to be there at the very end of August....HOT, HOT, HOT.:sunny: I'm thinking it will be best worn for our late dinner at Raglan Rd, rather than daytime at a park.

It doesn't sound like it would be bad. The important parts are hidden. There are much much worse things worn there. I think it's better than the things that are so low cut and high cut that we all see much more than we wanted.

Excellent points! Thank you!

It's called UNDERWEAR for a reason. There is never an excuse to have bras, panties, boxers or briefs exposed in public.

Just wear what you're comfortable wearing. The problem with asking this question here is that there would appear to be to many divergent ideas as to what is acceptable and only you can truly decide for yourself what you like and want to wear. As for the actual Disney policy it's:

The parks are a casual, family-oriented environment. We suggest you dress comfortably, wear good walking shoes and check the local weather report before you leave for the parks.

Ensuring that the parks are family friendly is an important part of the Disney experience. In that spirit, we ask you to use your discretion and common sense. Attire that is not appropriate for the theme parks (and which may result in refusal of admittance) includes but is not limited to:

* Adult costumes or clothing that can be viewed as representative of an actual Disney character
* Masks (unless you are dressing up for a particular event)
* Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics
* Excessively torn clothing
* Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment
* Objectionable tattoos

A Guest is allowed into the parks if her or his hair (or make-up, if applicable) has been made to resemble a Disney Princess or character (for example, after a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover) provided the Guest is not also wearing a costume or clothed to look like the character.

So really what you're talking about is more than fine.

There must be something to it if you are asking, however I have seen such a wide range of dress that I felt wasn't up to muster at the parks but each to his own. As long as the important stuff is covered I guess that is what counts. For some reason I do think there is a policy preventing you from wearing a bikini top only in the park but then again I might be thinking of another park so I am guessing all else would pass.

I tend to think that clearly visible bra straps is always a fashion DON'T. That said, it's always very common to see it in Disney (as well as any other public place in the summer). The worst offenders are women who wear a "normal" bra with tops that don't have "normal" straps like tube tops or racerback type shirts. They make strapless and racerback and halter and one shoulder bras all for a reason! That said, if the color matches and you are covered, I'm sure no one will bat an eye.
