I'm wondering about the dress code for the Chef's Table. My DH will be wearing a coat and tie, but what about me? I'm not sure how comfortable I'll be in a cocktail dress in the kitchen. I would also imagine it will be a bit warmer there then in the Dining Room. I've heard the gentlemen are often told they may remove their ties and jackets. Is this true? If we were eating in the Dining Room I would probably pack my DH's tux, but that seems overkill for the Chef's Table. Keep in mind this is a surprise for DH, so I'm smuggling his dress clothes into the suitcase. He knows we are going out one night, sans kid, for our 10th Anniversary, but he has no idea where.
Any opinions would be appreciated.

If your husband is dressed in a coat and tie there will be no problem. Has anyone ever heard of a woman's choice of dress being a problem??? pirate:

I don't think you'd be overdressed at all in a cocktail dress-- the kitchen isn't like walking into the back of a messy kitchen where food is thrown everywhere.... ;)

I wore a cocktail type dress when we dined at the Chef's Table...it is a bit warmer than in the Main Dining room but not hot. DH was told her could remove his jacket but if he went in the Main Dining room he had to put it back on. I treated the Chef's Table the same why I treated the Main Dining room in terms of dress. HTH.....

I had heard that the men were told they could remove their jackets, thanks for confirming!!
Thanks for the answers everyone!!

Men have to wear a jacket, but once in the kitchen can remove it. If they get up to go to the bathroom and also to leave they have to put their jacket on again
