Dress code at Contemporary

We are interested in eating at the restaurant at the top of the Contemporary for dinner. Is there a dress code?

Disney says, smart casual. You will see most people dressed in nice pants/shirt. We have went in shorts straight from the park, changed into something nicer first and then went.

What they are trying to avoid is people coming in tank tops, flip flops and swim attire.

Hi Joanne,

California Grill's dress code is "smart casual." Do a search on this board and you'll find lots of spirited discussions on the interpretation of that code, particularly when it comes to men wearing shorts!

I think shorts are fine as long as they're khaki shorts and not "athletic" shorts.

You see alot of businesspeople eating at the CG, and they're usually in suits or at the very least a polo and khakis.

But tshirts and shorts should be fine as long as they're of taste. I wouldn't recommend a Dirty Dick's Crabhouse tshirt, but a clean, nice but casual outfit should be fine.
