Dress Barn Question: How is the quality for the price?

I was out running errands this morning and the shopping center I visited had a Dress Barn. It looked like styles I might like to wear, but didn't get a really close up look.

Before I browse in the store, I was wondering how their quality was for the price? Are they "cheap" clothes or are they well made for the price? With what other stores are they on par?

I like Gap, Kohl's, Macy's (though I never shop there--but I like the clothes:laughing:), and Stein Mart. Those are of adequate quality for me when I find things on real sale or "fake" sale.

Thanks in advance!

For the price, I would say that the clothes are pretty good quality. You can get a pair of jeans for less than twenty dollars with their sales. All of the casual tops that I have purchased from Dress Barn are still in good condition a few years later. I also buy a lot of dresses from them - at 20 dollars a dress, how can a lady refuse!! :goodvibes Their clothing fits me really well, too, which is a plus.

I would caution against their jewelry. I bought a pair of earrings from them, and not even 5 minutes after having them, the jewel just fell out! I brought them back to exchange them, and the second pair lasted about 10 minutes before it fell out! I ended up just going back and getting a refund.

Other than that, I really love dress barn...especially when they have great sales going on!!!

I've always had good luck with clothes from Dress Barn. When I had a real job (LOL!), I always bought my suits and dress pants there. A few years ago, I bought a formal skirt/blouse outfit for a cruise. The quality has always been fine, similar to Kohl's or JC Penney, but not quite on par with Macy's.

I bought a couple of sundresses from them last spring, and used them all summer. I thought the quality was fine-- I'll be going back!

I always find things that I like at Dress Barn, and everything I've bought has lasted well. I'm mid-fourties, and I find things for work and for social events. Reasonable prices, good clearance every season.

Definitely google for a coupon before you go. And they often have "buy two ____, get $10 off your total" type sales; usually it's two dresses, sometimes it's two shirts.

I like it,but have found that I rarely find things there that are really cheap like some stores. I have a friend who is super picky about what she buys(her and her husband would probably never buy anything clothing related at Walmart or even Old Navy like I do).But she buys a lot at dress barn,so I think it must be pretty good.

I have bought a few things from there and did not like the quality at all. For the price, I don't think it's worth it.

I like Dress Barn...the quality is way better than Kohl's, but not quite up to Macy's standard. I need to go over there and pick up some winter tops.

I buy quite a few things there.....I always buy on sale and feel like I got decent clothes for the price.

I think their sizing is weird!! out of the normal standard.
