Sure, he was a man of innovention & furthering into technology, but I seriously doubt he would completely abandon the media which has brought him so much success to this day. I could see him keeping the way it is now, some animated, some CG... but I couldn't imagine him just dropping all animation. Maybe it's just because I'm a purist, but I think it takes a lot more skill in animation than in CG. I work with computers every day, and I know how hard it is, but it lacks that "finesse" that a lot of artist's give each animated movie.

I don't think that people look as good in cgi, and I don't think the acting is as good. Just imho. It will get better all the time.

The idea that Disney and Dreamworks are not using computers for all of their animation, whether it is CG or not is a myth. They use computers for all of it. Just that one also involves hand-drawn art, and the other doesn't.

I think it does take more people and more time to do it the non-CG way, but that was part of the great feel you could get from it. You could tell when a lot of people had poured years of hard work into the animation you were seeing on the screen. Perhaps the problem is that they rush these projects along these days, rather than giving them however long it takes to make it the best they can.
