Can DU book AAA rates at the WDW resorts? I want to make a reservation tomorrow when the AAA rates for 2003 come out for 1 night at the YC in Jan. 2003. Can DU do this for me? When I was just looking over their reservation form for booking a room only I didn't see where you would put in your AAA info. Also if they can get AAA rates when should I fill out reservation request today or do it first thing in the morning? If I do it first thing in the morning will they be on the phone with Disney right away so that I don't have to worry about all the AAA rates being gone when they get to it? We really want the YC over the BC because we'd really like a full balcony. Is it true that if a code rate comes out at a later date that will get us a better rate DU will contact Disney to get us that better rate? I'm really hoping there will be some good codes for Jan. that will get us an even better rate than AAA!!!

Yes, DU can get you the AAA rate. Just register at DU site, they will Email you Registration number and assign you a consultant. At that time you can Email your request for a AAA rate with your AAA number and your agent will see if anything is available and get back to you. Mention that you would be interested in a lower rate if a new code should come out. Our agent, Merrie, did that for us for Dec 4-11 at POR. Got our room for $118 and last week when the new codes came out, she Emailed me and told me that she got us the new rate of $85+ tax...1st time using DU and so far Merrie has been great...very prompt in answering all my questions.

DU must have changed their policy. When I asked to book using AAA my agent Carol said they couldn't do AAA. So I cancelled my reservation with them and called CRO for it. And called CRO when the codes came out for spring/summer.

Cassie, I had the same experience as you -- I really wanted to book through DU again, but they couldn't book the AAA rate. So by the time the codes came out I'd already paid two deposits and then when AP's came out I felt like I needed to stay with CRO.

Cheryl, please post and let us know if you are able to book AAA thru DU. If you are, I'll use them for our January trip...

I went back to the DU website and emailed them direct to find out if they could book the AAA discount. I really wanted to know so that I don't miss out on the discount. The answer I received from them is that they cannot book the AAA discount because they are not a AAA travel agency, which makes sense, however once I book the room on my own I can transfer the reservation to DU and then they will be able to watch for better discounts if they come out!

Cheryl, call CRO first thing tomorrow (the open at 7 am est) and book your reservation with the AAA discount. After that, if you want, transfer to DU. Then you shall have peace of mind with having a room, and let DU keep an eye out for any other specials. Du is great on getting PS's for meals and if you want to book a tour they are happy to do that too for you. I've used them before and was very happy with them.
