I am getting a quote from DU and was wondering a few things. First, I was told by my TA that I couldn't use AAA discounts with DU. Is this true? Also, my quote form DU was MORE than disney.com...is this normal?

Hi - I notice you're new - Welcome to the DISboards!

AAA Discounts (for packages (room+tickets and maybe dining) can only be booked by AAA. Not by the Disney Reservations Center, not by Disney dot com and not by DU.

AAA Discounts for room only reservations ( no tickets / no dining ) can be booked by AAA, the Disney Reservations Center and I think by DU -- someone with more knowledge of that can come along and confirm.

As for a price differential - Disney.com is NOT accurate yesterday and today so that may be part of your problem. Hard to say... Can you provide more information?

Yes, DU can get room-only AAA discounts. They were able to do so on my last two trips when I was unable to get the discount myself through Disney.

I love my Dreams agent! She applies the AAA discount to my room only reservation as soon as the rates are released. Plus she can apply any code, pin, or AP rate if those are released too.

(S)he can get you a further discount code or AP rate IF rooms are still available with the discount at your resort for your dates. It's not automatic. True enough, if you receive a postcard pin, DU can get that for you.

Using DU probably increases your chances of getting any newly-announced discounts since it's their job to be on top of what's going on.

I've used DU for my last two trips (Cathy is my agent), and I'm using them again for my Nov. trip. Obviously I'm satisfied. Once I make my room reservation with them, and then get my ADRs done -- then I let it go, and I don't worry about it anymore. If a further discount comes along -- and if DU gets it for me -- it's a bonus.
