Your experience and feedback of having DUT as your travel agent. We just transfer our res with them and we would like to know if we did the right thing.

3 years ago I planned all our family trip using this fabulous board and after reading good feedback at that time from DUT we decided to go ahead and have them but I don't see a lot of new feedback from them???

Any experiences????

About getting rebates or about having all your request available from hotel, dinning etc....

We are using Dreams Unlimited for our vacation next month and I we have used them 4 or 5 times previously. It has always been a great experience for us. Our agent is very nice and patient with us even though we almost always change our reservation 2-3 times. We also frequently change ADR's. Although I know we are pain in the butt customers, not once has our Dreams Agent made us feel like we were. She has almost always been able to get us the resort and ADR's we want and if she can't she offers great alternate suggestions. When codes, either public or pin codes sent to use directly, she has been able to apply them to our reservation whenever possible. She always keeps us informed. Unfortunately this time the Poly was sold out and no discount was available but that was not the fault of our agent in any way. I can say we have been 100%+ satisfied with Dreams Unlimited and have recommended them to all of our friends. It is like having your own concierge. :thumbsup2
 
Can anyone recommend someone at DU. The TA I have is not responsive and makes it seem as though I am bothering her whenever I try to contact her. Thanks!

is your ta now a du ta? i booked my land part of my trip through du and really would not do it again. i felt i lost control of it and sometimes i did feel like i was a bother to the agent. i booked 4 other rooms after this on my own for family that has decided to come with us and i was able to apply a discount code to theirs but had to wait to see if ta could get it for ours. when i sent her an email i got a blanket response saying 'don't contact me, i'll contact you'. now in fairness to her she probably got all kinds of emails from her clients so it probably was a bother.
i was put through to magical gatherings with the other 4 rooms and they suggested i have my ta link my resses to that ressis. i sent an email to du and she said no, it would have to be done through the other end. it was kind of like she did not want the bother. we did get it done though so no worries. it just allows all of us to be near each other in the same building.
i will not use du for a land stay again. i will tf my cruise ressis because of their obc.
now this is just me, i hate to lose control and only used them to see what the fuss was all about. they may do great for you. there is just no advantage that i can see. i get the same prices if i book myself and can change what ever i want when i want.

Yes, my TA is a DU agent. I transferred my ressie over to them a week ago. My ressie has been listed under DU on Disney's end for 4 days now and I have yet to hear a word from DU. I'm giving my TA until tomorrow afternoon before I request a change. I don't think I will use DU again.
 
When you book with DU, do they send you a confirmation letter or email like Disney does?
 
I have used DU 3 times now and have been completely satisfied. :goodvibes Not once have I had a problem with our reservation or ADRs. Our agent has always been quick to respond and has never made me feel like I was a bother-even though I can be a pest!:rotfl: We are planning to do a girls only trip next August and yes I will use DU again with no hesitation! Our agent has always been Sue Ellen!
 
Dreams are great and you have just as much control over your ressie as you do with booking it yourself. In fact I usually got an email back from my TA Rhonda in less than an hour with answers to my questions. They are very knowledgeable about everything and make great suggestions.

Having booked a room only once with Disney directly and having found it frustrating at having different CM's tell me different things i'm glad we used DU.

You won't lose control at all over your ressie, you'll gain peace of mind and a bit of help!!:thumbsup2

Tinkamom: Yes, you will get confirmation emails and you will get a special log-in so you can go on their site and view your booking, how much is left to pay, you can make small payments towards the trip as and when you want/can and it tells you when the total is due by. Very easy to use.
 
When you transfer a reservation from Disney it can take 5 business days for the reservation to transfer. Until that time Dreams can't do anything with the reservation.

I understand that, but Disney has my ressie transferred over already. They have actually had it transferred since Monday. :confused3
 
I have used DU for every disney trip we have taken.. and they are great. I've never had any issues about their service or anything until this last trip, and I don't know that it was them or a CM that dropped the ball, so I'll share my experiences, but take them with a grain of salt.

We were staying in disney and getting married there. On our reservations, it was listed as a vow renewal instead of a wedding. The honeymoon was not listed on any of our dinner reservations, not even 1900 park faire when I showed up in my wedding gown LOL.

Now, I don't doubt that my agent told disney over and over, because I bugged her about it LOL, and she has been fabulous on all of our trips. However, not being in control of my reservation made it impossible for me to ever check and make sure those things had been added.

So, after many trips with DU, we've booked a spring trip on our own. I did put in a quote for them and it was $300 more than disney's site, so I just booked myself. I've never done that before, and have to say that I am enjoying doing it myself.
 
We have used them for our past two trips and they were awesome!!! Dorothy was our agent, and whenever I needed something or had a question, she was very quick to respond, and provided a lot of assistance with the "little things". We love them, and we will using them again for our December 2009 Christmas trip to Wilderness Lodge!!

Our DUT TA has become a family friend. I cannot say enough good things about her. I will happily give you her deets - just send me a PM. We've used her about 4 times and are goin BACK BABY!! :banana: :banana:

Oops!!! I just realized our TA is from Small World Vacations! Never mind. She's still fantastic and I'll give you her deets if youl ike. Boy I must have Disney-Brain today becuase I am all over the shop! ;)

I have used DU for the last 3 years and had the same agent each time.

The first time she was great, communicated frequently, responded to my emails promptly, and even made sure we knew that park tickets prices were about to go up so that we could get ours before they did.

The 2nd time was just okay and this last time wasn't great at all. I think I received only 1 or 2 communications from her in the 6 months between when we booked and when we went on our trip, other than responses to my requests. She had this automated email response going on all the time (your email is important to me...busy time...get back to you ASAP...blah, blah, blah) and it would take her several days to a week or more to actually get back to you. :sad1: One time I actually had to email her 3 times over the course of 10 days before I finally got a reply. I wasn't a super-demanding customer or anything, I made no changes to my resort, requested ADRs once, added another a few weeks later, and then tried to get one change a few weeks later. We made only one request regarding our room and we didn't get it. We ended up liking the location we got better anyway, but I did wonder if the request even got passed on.

I don't know if I would use them again. I would definitely not use that agent again!
 
booknut, sorry, i have to disagree. you do not have as much control over your ressis. dmslush said it best and i think she is being very kind in her post. if it were my wedding you would hear more. she could not even check to make sure it was listed. thats what annoys me. i'll not know what has actually happened till i get there.
the funny thing is i have never seen my ta (the ta they assined me) spoken of as a recomended ta. mary ellen always seems to be mentioned and a few others but never the one i have. maybe thats a sign right there. it could only be the agent i am having problems with, not du. she also sent an email shortly after she was assigned that said she was going part time. that kind of says to me 'when you need me i may not be there'. who needs it.
this is just me opinion but yeah, i lost all control over what is on my ressies. i'll continue to do it on my own going forward.

it doesn't matter if you are supper demanding, its their job. this is what they get paid for.
i'd be curious to know if the people who have the bad experiences are with my ta. if anyone wants to cmopare notes pm me with your agents name.
