Dreams Unlimited and adding trip insurance

Good morning fellow Disers! I got our quotes from Dreams Unlimited, and it was better than booking directly with Disney. Now I'm in the middle of placing our deposits down on our two separate reservations. I placed one and I am waiting on the other one, because I realized after the fact, that I would like a possibly to add trip insurance.

So now that I've placed one of the two deposits is it too late to add insurance? Or is something that can be added up till the final payment is placed?

Also about how much is trip insurance on a 4 day disney cruise typically? We normally do not get it. But my mom is rightfully paranoid because we will be flying out of Detroit in January. Also I question if it will cover the flights since our flights are not included in this package.

To get the flight coverage, you will want trip insurance with a company other than Disney I think. We got ours through a comparative insurance site. Price depends on your cost of trip and what types of coverage. I paid $168 for my coverage of a $7500 cruise/airfare combo. It is a pretty standard policy. Exactly right. DCL insurance will only cover whatever you pay for through DCL. Generally, purchasing 3rd party insurance will cover more and cost less than purchasing through the cruiseline (any cruiseline, not just DCL). There are several travel insurance comparison sites, just Google it.
