Does anyone have any feedback or experience in staying in the Dream's Inside Stateroom, category 11A? I'm not sure what the difference is in the 11A, 11B and 11C category, other than the deck number? We are a family of 4, is it roomy. How is the "magical porthole"? TIA:chat:

Yes, the only difference is the deck number for Cat 11s; A 8-10, B 5-7 & C 2. Cat 11 are standard size and do not have split bathrooms. Cat 10's are the larger family size with split bath inside rooms.

We have only stayed in cat 11 rooms and they work well for us but we always get 2 connecting, so can't really say how it would be for 4. I can say the magical portholes are great, we love them. A lesser know fact about the portholes is depending on what wall the MP is located that is your view. In other words if the wall is to the aft of the ship, your view will be like you're looking off the back deck. The MP is always on the wall opposite the stateroom door. The only exception to this would be if it's a sideways room, which I don't know if the Dream class has those or not.

I believe I've been told that the Dream/Fantasy do not have sideways rooms.

The Dream and the Fantasy do not have the sideways rooms.

We always stay in cat 11s but we are only a party of two. It's fine for us. I didn't think the magical portholes added much to the room and haven't missed them in the last handful of cruises on the older ships.

I believe our first cruise was a Cat 11A because it was on deck 8. We found it roomier than inside rooms on other cruise lines, but we were only two people. In my opinion, it is still going to be snug with four people considering the square footage. The magical portholes are cool, although the characters didn't go by as much as I would have liked.

This past cruise we sailed in an 8A on deck 5. I am not sure if that would be your budget, but they are very roomy and would fit four people easily. They don't have a split bath, but I don't remember 11A having that either.

I would go with the Cat 10 family inside, it has 200 sq ft vs 169 sq ft of the Cat 11.
