Hello, everyone! My DH (35), DDs (7 & 3) and I (34) just returned from a 6 day trip to Disney World. We had such a fabulous time! Before we left, I had read about the Year of a Million Dreams, but never thought we'd win anything. In fact, during our first few days in the parks, we only saw a handful of people with the dream fastpasses, lanyards and Mickey ears. Imagine my surprise and excitement when the Dream Team found US... TWICE!
We first met the Dream Team while in MGM. We decided to go on the Great Movie Ride first thing in the morning. When we boarded, the Dream Team gave us dream fastpasses! I was SO excited!!! Funny thing is, MGM was not crowded (we walked on the ToT several times!) and we never used our fastpasses, but we have a wonderful souvenir to remind us of our fortune.
Our second meeting with the Dream Team was while my oldest DD and I were getting on Mission: Space. They handed us lanyards and pins - how cool! Unfortunately for us, we weren't interested in pin collecting/trading until we received these pins. Fortunately for Disney, they collected almost $100 from our family from the sale of pins that they ordinarily would not have received from us. At any rate, we have another great souvenir to remind us of our fabulous Disney trip.
Finally, although this wasn't a Dream Team moment, my oldest DD received one of the Tinker Bell pins that you cannot purchase and can only receive from a cast member. She was THRILLED that she was so fortunate to receive such a special pin. I was thrilled when she generously gave the other Tinkerbell pin (they come in sets of 2 - one for you, one for someone else) to a cast member that didn't have any "special pins." It was so nice to see that my little girl was actively looking for that special someone to give such a special pin.
No, we didn't receive a night in Cinderella Castle, nor did we receive a vacation club villa, but we did get a whole lot of magic and 3 special gifts that we never expected. We had a wonderfully magical time in Disney and dreams just topped the cake.
