I don't know if this is the right place to post this....we are going with family over Thanksgiving week. We had originally had plans to go in June 2020 but we postponed due to...you know what. We had a great Dreams agent and we decided to use her again. So there are 4 families going, total of 15 people. 3 of the families have made their reservations and we are doing ours tomorrow. My cousin just texted me tonight and said she didn't like the agent this time. Cousin is asking questions, agent just blasts her links to things and doesn't explain anything. When cousin asked about dining reservations, agent just sent her a link with all the restaurants. Cousin asked about transfers from the airport. Agent said she has to do them herself. No explanation about Magical Express going away and no recommendations about who to book. These are first time Disney people going and she is frustrated and confused. She feels like the agent doesn't even want to help her. So....how do we fix this? Are we able to ask for a new agent? Cousin feels at this point that she could do all the planning herself because the agent isn't helping at all. Or do they cancel and rebook on their own? I would love to keep it with Dreams, but having an agent that isn't very helpful isn't my idea of fun.

Yes "you" can use a different TA. On Dreams quote page they have a drop down list of agents to choose from, so just do not pick the one your cousins used. If your cousins do not like the agent then have them reach out to Dreams and get their reservation switched to a different TA. I personally find Dreams agent list very weak, because all it does is give you agent names. I saw a different Disney agency and you can actually look at each agents Bio etc. which I find better to choose one.

Drop thr agency. Go solo.

My experiences have been blah with an agent. No incentive to use them at all.

As 'OKW Lover' posted, definitely reach out to the owner with your issue and questions.
I have done reservations myself and with the TA that I found 10 years ago and I would much rather use my TA. She has found discounts and options that I would have had to be always checking online myself to find. A great example is our upcoming trip to US, she found a room at one of the premeir hotels (free EP's) for a lot less then what I found, and I was looking "a lot":headache: I look at it as what does it hurt to have another person helping to look for the best options. But it really depends on the TA. Mine sends me a reminder when it's time to make ADR's, touring tips, transportation options etc.

I'm not sure what type of information she wanted. If she is first-time then she would not know about Magical Express, so no need to explain that the service is no longer available. There are options that can be booked but have to be booked yourself. This sounds like what the agent told her. What kinds of questions was she asking about dining. Dining is very subjective. The best thing is to look at all of the restaurants, menus, etc. and make decisions based on that. The only way to do that is to view them online. Sounds like the agent sent her exactly that, a way to view her options. It's really too early to book anything since nothing can be booked until 60 days prior to arrival.

So even though they are Disney newbies, they had been fully booked for a trip in June 2020 and cancelled it because of COVID. So they knew about ME, dining reservations, fastpass, etc. This time when she asked about ME, she wasn't even told that it had been discontinued, she was just told she had to book transfers herself. Yes, she had made dining reservations before, but was also given a lot of information when she asked specific questions. This time around, she feels her experience with the same TA is vastly different. She doesn't really feel like her TA is working to make her Disney trip planning easy. I know how much goes into planning a Disney trip and how difficult it can be. My cousin is just disappointed. Also, the TA didn't even tell her about when she was able to make dining reservations. I told her. At this point, she feels like she should just cancel with the TA. So what should I be telling her to expect from her TA? Tickets and hotel are booked already. What else is the TA going to do for her?
