Like most of you I find most of my time consumed of daydreaming of Disney. I know what the cure is. . .

Go to Disney and go OFTEN!!!!!!

Well, many times we have the means, just not the time!!! I've started a new job and I ONLY get two weeks off a year. Of course I get holidays and for holidays like this, we have three days. Now, as much as I would love to stay longer, I would be satisfied with a two or three day trip.

Here's the "problem" We live in Delaware. We fly out of Atlantic City. The flight takes about two hours then, of course, there's the collecting of your luggage and finally getting to the World. In total, it's like 4 hours. This is not including the early arrival time at the airport. That would be more like 6 hours.
Anyway, I'm willing to try it sometime but my husband says NO WAY. He'd be nervous of something happening and us not making it back on time for work. And besides, we'd spend all of our time trying to just get there and back. I guess he's right but I was just wondering what some of you other DVCer's do? I know some of you go 4 -5 x's a year. Are they all long trips or are some of them just spur of the moment weekenders?

Just curious and am anxious to hear your replies.

We have much the same problem with quick trips coming out of Philadelphia. We live an hour from the airport so a 6:00 am house departure is required for a noon resort arrival.

We will take advantage of the weekend and two weekdays for a quick trip. Four days is about as short as we go now. Although we have added on a Disney excursion to other travel in the past for a one or two or three day adventure.

We did a last minute 5 day Poly trip in June for our 25th anniverary using AP codes and FF tickets. Managed to put the whole trip together just two weeks before departure and surprised my wife who thought we were going to Hershey. She was nonstop questions as we headed to the airport. Once we checked in for a flight to Orlando she wanted to know which resort.

Hi.

We're going on a "spur of the moment trip" to BWV. Sept 11-14 (Thurs to Sunday). My wife and I don't work on Fridays and we can work a full day on Thurs. We have a non-stop flight out of Boston at 720pm and arrive late Thurs. We have all day Fri and Sat and Sunday morning at WDW. We're leaving at 1pm to catch the 3pm non-stop home. Back to work on Monday.

Since we're not bringing the children, we plan to relax at the pool, see Cirque du Soleil Friday night, Keys to the Kingdom Sat morning by myself, my wife has an appt for a massage on Sat, and dinners at Flying Fish, and Bistro de Paris. In theory it sounds great to get away and do some different things at Disney than we're used to. I'll let you know how it goes.

Being from Delaware as well I know where your coming from. I often wish we could go more often as well.

Just looking for a report from you guys who had short trips coming up.

Were you rushed? Were you able to enjoy the trip?

Thanks for your replies,
April

We do short trips often from the DC area. You need to get beyond the point where you feel like you have to do everything. We just enjoy eating at a few of our favorite places, and walking through one or two of the parks.

We see the advantage of DVC as going often enough not to feel like we have to do anything particular on a given trip. There will always be next time.

Course I just joined thsi past spring, but before DVc we always planned out at leat a few months if not more. The onlt tiem we really took a spur of the moment trip was late thsi summer using the FTP deal. We booked it on impluse and went about 2 1/2 weeks later. Was oen of the best trips we ever had!

We do not feel rushed for short trips. We pick a limited amount of things we want to do, leave time for just doing nothing and enjoy being immersed in Disney fun.
